The Chaos Warlord's ability is that whenever damage is assigned to an enemy, increase that damage by 1.

Some cards let you reassign 1 damage to another army unit.

If 4 damage is going to be assigned to a unit, the Warlord usually increases that to 5. If I redirect 1 damage to another unit, does that other unit take 1 damage or 2 (due to the Warlord's ability)?

For example, the card Bodyguard.

Hmm. You might need FFG to weigh on on this one officially.

- On the one hand, a "reassignment" reaction is going to come after the Warlord's "assignment" interrupt, so his effect will already have been played for that assignment.

- On the other hand, the "reassignment" could be considered a separate, new assignment that would provide a second "triggering condition" for the warlord to interrupt.

So it really comes down to whether the "reassignment" effectively counts as a second assignment. While my gut says "no," my head says "quite possibly." I can't find anything specifically on point in the RRG, so maybe this question needs to be sent directly to FFG?

I wish FFG had a rules authority visit this forum every so often to answer questions we can't find the answers to.

Yes both damages would be able to be increased by Zarathur's Interrupt. This has been confirmed with the design team.

Also note both PBrennan and myself are the Conquest Rules Arbitrators over at Card Game DB and tend to be there more than here. We do our best to check both sites as often as time allows. We're as close as you will get to "FFG had a rules authority visit".
