Scum and Villainy Aces Speculation

By Radzap, in X-Wing

Ok, so now that it looks like Krasis wont be in the S&V Starter pack this opens speculation for Krasis showing up in an expansion...possibly even in another ship!

Personally, I'd love to see Krasis back in a Firespray and they could include a special scummy repaint of the normal Firespray. Sure this would make the box a little pricey, but I'm all for it.

I'm praying for Dengar personally, but my Swar-Fu isn't good enough to know what ship he'd be flying. Who else would you love to see in an Aces box, and what ship would they be flying?

I hope it is two m-3a scyk pilots.

Other than the name and third ship, most wanted really seems like an aces pack...

I would like to see more of what comes out first before I think of a Scum Aces expansion. What they've shown us so far much to go on at the moment.

The first Ace pack was three waves in. We're not likely to see Scum Aces for a loooooooooong time unless one of the ships is a dud.

There's only one Scum Ace I want to see now, and that's Ace Azzameen. I was expecting the Rebels to get the Azzameens, but Emon's set the precedent.

But since the Aces packs are generally re-paints of existing ships, wouldn't S&V just be better off with entirely new ships for now? That said, didn't Boushh fly a Z-95?

We haven't even gotten wave 5 yet, maybe slow it down with speculation on post-wave 6 releases.

Why?

I'm pretty sure that the forum will self destruct if we stop speculation threads for too long.

Normally, I am one who rails against such advanced speculation. I never much see the point in it.

In this case, however, I almost don't mind, as I would rather see people on this forum excited about, thinking about, and posting about ANYTHING truly related to X-Wing, as opposed to all of the "inclusivity" threads and the like.

Exactly. With that in mind, I shall now bump the Imperial Huge Ships thread.

It's for the good of the forum.

This was the spirit in which I created the thread for.

I know that Scum Aces is going to be a long way off, but to bump my original point, I'm miffed that Krasis was left out in the S&V xpac. A few people speculated why he didn't get a new card in other threads, but none considered the possibility that he'd come out in a later expansion as an Ace.

Which also brings up the question of who even qualifies as a Scum Ace to begin with? We have the obvious choices: the bounty hunters from ESB, but who else? And do the bounty hunters even qualify as ace pilots, seeing as they are less militaristic than either side. Will the Scums end up being Ace-less because of their preference of profit over pilot skill?

Acepacks are just new pilots and upgrades to either buff or diversify ships. Doesn't really matter what a Scum Ace is.

Mara jade flys a Z-95 (and a skipray blast boat) for Talon Karrde in the Thrawn books.

I kind of figured Aces was in response to underperforming ships. They gave some specific upgrades to make them a little more competitive.

Maybe a S&V aces won't even be needed, or not needed for this wave of S&V.

The other Aces packs were like waves 3.5 and 4.5 and they were for ships in wave 2.

If they were to decide that something in wave 6 was underperforming, you probably wouldn't see an aces till 7.5

And Wave 3 (B-Wing).

I agree, though, that they'll wait to release Scum Aces until they've seen what's underperforming from Wave 6 once it hits the market. That puts a Scum Aces pack more than a year away ... probably Q1 2016, like Wave 8.5 or something.

IG-88's E and F.

Seriously though, it would be nice to see more of the stand alones before we start guessing which ones will need a boost.

If they decide to include the 'good guys' in S&V then I would like to see a YT Aces pack. It could come with the 2000 and refits for our exisitng YTs.

  • Ace and Thomas in the 2000
  • Aeron as a 1300 refit
  • Galin as crew, along with new S&V versions of Chewie, Lando and Leebo.
  • Rmade pilots for our favorite smugglers, along with more infamous names.
  • Titles including Selu, Sabra, Otana
  • Another freaking Engine Upgrade for crying out loud.
  • Illicit upgrades and modifications to match the flavor of smugglers and their tricks

I could see a family war. Emon with the Scum, Ace with the Rebellion, and Antan with the Empire.

Why would Ace have to join the Scum just because his brother did?

Screw Antan!

Seriously though, I am not sure what you would do with him. Maybe imperial only crew?

I'm going to be the jerk here and say I won't really miss Krasis from my Villainy builds. We now have three VERY different pilots for the Firespray who are unique, and the Mandalorian pilots finally, FINALLY give us an elite generic Firespray. I am so very happy with how things are turning out so far. Krassis, while a nice option, can stay with the Imperials. I like how things are for now: same ships, whole new flavour.

One of them should have this paint scheme.

I'm for maybe 1 ScumZie-95 and maybe 1 MA-3 Scyk Interceptor.

Lol. Ok, so maybe it is a jerk thing to say only because I've been totally converted into a Krasis fanboy from using him so much when I was cutting my teeth in the game. But it's perfectly reasonable to assume that Mr. Trelix accepted a commission in the Imperial Navy and got lazy feeding off the fat of the Empire. If that's the case, I've lost a little respect for the bloke...Freebooter or Die, I say!

From what I recall, the idea is that Krassis is used enough as it is because his ability is so good. The reason Boba and Kath made the cut for a remake in S&V is because they are not as widely used (or weren't at the time of their conception), the final unique pilot gave them an opportunity to have another named Firespray pilot that wasn't in the game and that was Emon, who I get a kick out of because of the X-Wing Alliance connection.

It would be boring if all we ever had for Firesprays was Krassis, Boba and Kath. Now if there was an aces pack, I don't think it would be a big ship. Now I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years we may see a repainted Scum Firespray avalible separately to boost the pilots and ship (if needed) as well as offer an alternative way to get a Firespray for those not interested in Imperials but into Scum.

I am not opposed to seeing a Scum version of Krassis...but would rather see different pilots who are also useful first. He's already good and we don't need a encore performance from him. :P
