Alright folks, I said I was going to do text coverage for this tournament and I'm super serious about it. It may even cause me to miss out on making Day Two. But I'm super excited for this and I want to get as much information about the metagame, the players, and the matches in this tournament as possible, and I want to get it out to everyone who can't go as close to immediately as possible. I have everything organized, so here's what you need if you want to follow the text coverage of the event.
First of all, check out FFG's video coverage on their Twitch Channel. I cannot say enough how excited I am that they've got commentary lined up for all four days, and I can't WAIT to see how it evolves into next year's event coverage. Even if you don't care about the other LCGs, they're showing Star Wars at approximately 1:25pm CST on Thursday and 3pm CST on Friday.
Second of all, for the most up-to-date information on the tournament, log on to Twitter and follow @TeamSandcrawla. I'm going to be posting everything to that Twitter account ASAP, with blog updates following as soon as I have time between rounds (if I have time between rounds). Even if you don't have Twitter, you can just open up the page in a browser and it'll auto-update in the background.
Finally, if you want to see the more polished and complete coverage, I have two posts on the Sandcrawla that I'm going to be updating as often as possible. If you save these links or refresh them occasionally, that will keep you up-to-date--I will NOT be posting additional blog posts beyond these two. If the name of the post changes, that's because that's going to be my trick to let people know there's new information (if I've changed the name).
FFG World Championships is the first post, which I'll use to essentially travelogue and document the event as a whole, including all my non-Star Wars activities.
The Coverage Is Here. This will be updated with everything I can, including pictures (though mostly text). I expect that by the end of the weekend, it should be pretty long. But hopefully by organizing things in a "most recent information on top" manner, I can keep everything tidy and easy to find.
If you're going, come say hi! I'll have a pair of pins on my badge to identify me (look for the Team Sandcrawla and the Vedalken Heretic). I also hope, if FFG and the players are okay with it, to do little personality profiles on all the players who make the top (16?) cut, to give the players of this game a little more stardom, and so people know who's there and who's doing well.
