Assault Transport, ATR-6 and Bulk Freighter -pics

Made a bulk freighter from some skins online, overlapped on a shape I made..

Then used Colonial Chromes photos for new ATR and assault transports...

Made to scale...

I plan to use them for scenario games at my local store..

Printed the photos, overlayed on foam paper. Then wrapped in tape. That's why it's shiny looking and a few bubbles. Looks better in person.

ATR proposed stats

10 hull , 10 shields (142ru, 200sbd)

4 attack (side firing arcs only)

1 Agility

Delta transport..

6 hull 6 shield (80ru, 125sbd)

2 attack

1 agility

Bulk freighter..

10 hull, 10 shield (144ru, 200sbd)

0 attack, 0 agility

This is based on wookiepedia stats...and current units to find their equivalent

13.2ru = 1 hull

66ru = 5 hull

100sbd = 5 shield

20sbd = 1 shield

These look really good!

I really wish that FFG releases some of these ships or cardboard templates so people can start organizing intricate and meaningful mission, scenarios and campaigns. Fighting in the same old asteroid field is hilarious considering the depth and complexity of the source material (star wars universe and previous games).

Missions to capture bulk freighters ...

Missions to destroy them before they move to opposite the side of play area..

Missions to eliminate pirate outposts like from Tie Fighter, facing Z95s, YWings, DX-9 transports, freighter, containers, etc..

Missions replicating those in the PC games, Steele vs Zaarin and Harkov..

I understand it has a lot of lasers but never seemed to use them that successful vs small craft. I feel if it was given 4 attack dice it would just joust with defenders and other ships.. And win.

Maybe a "4" attack on epic size ships and the 2 or 3 attack vs all other ships?

This would make them effective vs the ships they were normally used against, while still retaining decent power vs smaller ships.

Seems like a lot of hull/shields there when you compare those ships to, say the Decimator, GR-75 and CR-90. And bearing in mind that the current top level Shields for ANY X-Wing ship is 5.

Epic ships have different hull ratings and shield ratings than non epic ships. They don't scale the same.

For non epic ships, the VT-49 appears in line with what the numbers should be on it

The shuttle, yt1300, firespray, etc, are all proper to canon also.

ATR and DX may seem beefy, but that's because they are.

If you take the canon values of RU and SBD and translate it into XWing Minis, everything is actually accurately represented. Again this does exclude how they came up with the CR-90 and Epic Transport values

Shielding 130 SBD = 4 Shields Tokens

Hull 90 RU = 12 Hull Tokens

ATR-6

10 hull , 10 shields (142ru, 200sbd = 10 Proposed (but seeing what VT49 got, it should only be 5-6)

Hull 142 RU = 10 Proposed ( but it should actually be more, as they gave the VT49 more hull points per RU than they should)

Depends how you choose to outfit it. HLC will represent it's forward firepower, ion will allow it to ion.

Remember, shuttles have cannons too. Now - ask yourself if in the games the brought their guns to bare effectively?

So really... maybe 4 with cannon isn't unreasonable.

As an aside: bulk freighter and possible the ATR should get the reinforce action.

Remember, shuttles have cannons too. Now - ask yourself if in the games the brought their guns to bare effectively?

If it's got firepower 9001 it won't matter if it can't get a bead on a second target. Just give it a poor dial - which it should have anyway.
