Daredevil, is it a boost or not?

So the daredevil EPT states the following.

FAQ

Action: Execute a white

[ Left Turn 1] or [Right Turn 1] maneuver. Then, receive 1 stress
token. Then, if you do not have the action icon,
roll 2 attack dice. Suffer any damage [hit] and critical
damage [critical hit] rolled.

Now since it doesn't say boost or have the same wording that the boost has. Mainly concerning this

“A ship cannot boost if this would cause its base to overlap with another ship’s base or an obstacle token, or if the maneuver template overlaps an obstacle token.”

So I am wondering could yo use Daredevil to "bump" (overlap) another ship such as to avoid the fire arc of say a falcon?

Yes. Daredevil is considered a maneuver so you can overlap with it.

You can also theoretically use Daredevil to overlap a ship you're already overlapping, if you somehow get a free action.
Captain Oicunn double-donk!

So like using Lando or Squad leader to help a ship break out of a furbal.

I debated this quite a bit myself, but the key to me is that it doesn't say "boost" but "maneuver". So I concluded that you could because cards like Expert Handling so clearly call their action out as a barrel roll action, whereas Daredevil doesn't do the same regarding the boost action and FF didn't feel compelled to "correct" this after multiple FAQ releases.

Furthermore, if you want to you can take a pilot like Tycho with PTL, to Daredevil maneuver and then boost to nearly turn around when you didn't pick a k-turn. I haven't found a good reason to do that with another pilot due to the double stress.

Tycho would have to have the A-wing Test Pilot title to be able to have Push the Limit AND Daredevil. Makes him 32 points with Chaardan Reft. That's an expensive A-Wing with no missiles and only 2 attack dice!

Low attack, but extreme maneuverability, means that he'd be putting the screws to someone with 3 dice every round, and almost never being in a position to be fired upon.

Besides boost and barrel roll after say a turn sounds like a very stressful K-turn.

a 0 Koiogran SHOULD be stressful.

I'm just trying to figure out when you would do a 0 semi-K turn. It is sort of more like a 0 Seignior Loop.

If you do it two turns in a row, is it a pirouette?

Putting it on Tycho essentially makes him immune to stress, rather than merely highly resistant to it.

But if you have stress, you CANNOT pull a red maneuver which is exactly what this is. Just figured it out as I read the thread. I already had a "Psycho" Celchu list made up with PTL, Daredevil, and Experimental Interface. But, now that I think about and read more carefully, Celchu can't complete any red maneuver if he already has stress. Am I missing something?

The FAQ states it's not a red maneuver, it's intended to be a white 1-turn that give you stress after completing.

OK, missed that in the FAQ. Fun, fun.
