Single release scum Y's and Z's

By cody campbell, in X-Wing

Hey guys. I know the scum faction is yet to be released, but I've been thinking about how they are going to handle the single releases.

I think pairing of y-wings and z-95's is a good one; aside from the m3-a, I don't see any better "swarmy" ships in the scum line up. I couldn't see anyone wanting several z-95's, but not y-wings.

Inevitably, somewhere down the road, someone is going to want single releases of those ships, I believe.

Do you think it'll happen? Will they have new pilots, much like the core vs expansion ties and x's? What about secondary market purchases of the hwk and firespray components?

I would think so. Most wanted seems like a product to allow existing players to get up to speed on the new faction with a minimum of fuss, but going forward, new players could get confused and may not want to buy Imp or Reb ships just to make full use of their Scum expansion, so I expect to eventually see regular expansion packs for scum Zs, Ys, HWKs and Firesprays (and hopefully scum YTs). but it probably isn't a really high priority and may take quite a while.

There Isn't any evidence to support them doing single releases.. I wouldn hold my breath..

So.. I'm saying they won't, not sure where I saw it but I think there was some conversation that said they won't.. but like I said, I dont rememeber where..

Judging by how many pilot cards you get in the S&V expansion I'm thinking not, OP.

hopefully scum YTs

I'd cry if that happened.

Probably not. Buying 2 Most Wanted sets is 2 Y's and 4 Z's. Combined with other Scum ships and repurposed Firesprays, there's no reason to put out single ships. Only issue would be for Z swarms but if you want that, you likely already have 3+ Z's that you'd be adding 2+ more from Most Wanted to.

I think the Most Wanted pack is likely to be the best value for money way to get those ships. When they released the Z-95, how many players decided to get just one, because that's all they'd ever need. I'm guessing not many.

What you get in the pack is a good utility ship and two low cost ships (that you'd normally need plenty of anyway) and a serious amount of cards. It seems to me to be akin to buying a second core set. Why would you want to buy individuals when you get so much more with a boxed pack?

It would be nice if they did individual packs later on, but I think the majority will buy the 3-ship pack, purely for the amount of extra bits you get. I bought a HWK purely to be able to use the components in the MW pack. And that was before the HWK pilots were spoiled.

only if there are new poilts as good as these ones are more is always better

but were still waiting for new Rebel Y wing pilots.....

I hope they do. I don't see why they wouldn't. Yes, Most Wanted is a great value for the ships, but the core set is a great value for X-wings and TIEs and yet they still came out with those ships as stand-alones. There are only so many new ships they can draw from before they have to start expanding more on released ships.

hopefully scum YTs

I'd cry if that happened.

Tears of joy or aggrevation?

maybe a new SCUM core box set. along with a new Imperial Core Box set. and Rebel one as well to appeal to those folks that just want to play, own or afford ONE faction. So it would take TWO different core sets to actually play. maybe a good marketing thing? Dont know don't think it will happen. just jacked up on caffeine right now and basically rambling on what ever catches my eye...

There's no reason scum wouldn't have ships like the yt`s it's a pretty common light freighter, obviously no falcon or anything like that so it would be 2attack.

I'd expect individual z95`s and y-wings for scum.

I also would expect singles of all S&V.

I think scum yt's would be great, since they aren't the falcon they'd have the outer rim smuggler stats

I think they'd make more money not selling singles, so I doubt we'll see them.

Agreed. Give us a modified YT-1300 model with a nice Scum repaint job, give it access to the Illicit Upgrades and some unique features via unique Titles and you're all set.

eg:

Selu (Unique, Scum Only, Title, YT-1300) - your upgrade bar gains a Systems Upgrade slot.

Sabra (Unique, Scum Only, Title, YT-1300) - you may replace one Crew slot on your Upgrade Bar with a Salvaged Astromech slot.

Personally I think the Rebel YT-1300 pilots should ALL have had the Outer Rim Smuggler profile in the first place, and the Millennium Falcon title should have increased it's profile stats as well as supplying the Evade action. There's a lot of YT-1300''s out there, but there's only one Falcon.

The Falcon is too iconic to be anything but Rebel. Sort of why Artoo puts a kibosh on non-Rebel Astromechs.

Exactly why I suggested a modified YT-1300, with a nice repaint! ;)

While no evidence exists that FFG plans to release anything along the lines of a single S&V Ywing/Z95, I think FFG may do this down the road. They seem to have their heads on straight when it comes to releasing products that would be logical. Either that, or future prints of the Rebel Z95/Ywing would contain parts/cards for both factions. Both of these I can see being completely possible.

Some YT-1300 unique pilots that have the weaker ORS stats would be pretty cool actually. It would be neat to see what sorts of things they could do with those stats and would make the ship behave very differently from the rebel versions(most of them, anyway).

yes, I think the ORS makes sense asa crossover scum craft. Would be fun to try for casual play. No rebel only crew, no unique pilots from rebel faction. I think it makes sense. Also, may not take the MF title card. I'd give that a go for casual play. throw in an illicit upgrade just for yucks.

. Also, may not take the MF title card.

Which is the fly in the ointment right there. The MF title isn't rebel only, is it?

So what? Let them take it, it only grants the evade action.

Was it Dengar that flew a Z-95? There are still a few named Z-95 pilots out there. I don't know if that would justify a single Z-95 release?

Ace Azzameen had one that he flew sometimes when he wasn't in the Otana.
