Been playing around with bombers and prox mines.
I'm really liking the changes.
For example, last night I flew
3 scimitar with prox mines
Academy pilot
Fel with ptl.
The prox mines are great.
I had some good luck dice rolls where I put one prox mine right under an awing and he rolled two hits and a crit.
Granted that's just a bad roll, but did kill the awing, it's the control of the board that I'm liking.
Fly in between two asteroids where I think he is going to go, and drop the mine. Now he has to take a different way through, and changes up whatever evil plan he had in mind. Leaving my other ships to get in a better attack position, or getting right behind my opponent.
It's not something I'd take to the worlds with, but it's fun, and something different.
Yes prox mines do on average 1.5 dmg. Sometimes they don't do any, but it's also just the idea that they really change what my opponent is going to do.
If he has to reconsider then that is a good thing.
Plus the new change that if it lands under a ship it detonates right away is nice
May do 0 dmg, may do 3, but just for the fact of having them on your ship changes your opponents strategy.
