A pox on my OCD! Have some starship plans as a result!

By Desslok, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I didnt intend to waste Sunday designing my character's starship, but first I did a rough version in MS paint, thought I could do better in photoshop, then went "this needs to look like a blueprint!"

Next thing I know, it's 5! Damnit.

I was originally inspired by the Eagle transporters from Space: 1999, but obviously, I've changed things all around. And its a more sleek ship, not so 70s Retro looking.

As for stats, I'm just using the stock YT-1300. I just wanted a non-1300 ship to run in, so the serial numbers come off the engine block and there I go!.

So says the man who just drew a blue print.

Might be a stupid question, but what does "G" stand for?

Nice blueprint though!

Groovy!

Or more likely "gunwell"

That would be the gravy storage tanks. For Thanksgiving Life Day and all.

Oh - wait, I mean gunwell.

I thought Life Day was... Christmas/Saturnalia

Nce design but why homebrew a ship if you aren't going to alter the stats at least a little bit?

Because not every ship has to have different stats. Same reason why there isn't a long list of Blasters with tons of minor tweaks to one stat or another. Sometimes fluff is enough to make something different :)

Exactly. I wanted a nice, basic (yet versatile) freighter with a different coat of paint. No need to jigger numbers around unnecessarily when all I'd be doing is adding some cargo space or something.

Also, in our game there's no 1300s to be seen - we're doing a Sith Cold War game. So that class wont be around for some 3,000-ish years.

My OCD must be worse then yours. It bugs me those two rooms on the second deck don't have any labels! How could you do such a thing!?

Oh yeah - I was going to come up with something to put there, but just straight out forgot about it. All the major ship systems and facilities have been covered, so perhaps they're just storage? The one on the left was a "Hey, I've got a little bit of room - lets put a closet there!" - so no real designs on what it was suppose to be.

It's whatever your PCs want it to be. I vote distillery.

Clearly it's a walk in humidor

Off-topic, but kinda-sorta' on topic. I like your design, it's looking good.

Has anyone ever seen these before? i like them, and one day, I will finish building one for my group.

As to the FFG mini game. I think the minis look pretty good, but I really wish they were painted. I used to paint minis, but I don't do it anymore, and now really wish I could just buy them already painted. So I guess I will still collect the old WotC ones.

Here is a link to a custom made Barloz Freighter that someone did using the WWG First light PDF. Some of the hyperlinks in the thread still work.
