I know exactly what you mean,even subsidising X-Wing with eBay sales I've spent way more on X-Wing this year than I thought I would.

The other two games do look good - but I could easily see myself ending up with a box of unpainted, rarely used models again, so I'm going to stick with X-Wing. I think every expansion FFG has released for X-Wing so far has improved the game, and pace of the game & speed of play is just perfect.

Armada comes painted, except the fighters, and they're too small to pain I reckon. I actually don't think Imperial Assault needs painting - the different colours for the sides look pretty good. Have you even played Zombicide? That comes with colour coded minis and I'm happy with them unpainted.

No, I haven't played that one. The minis in Space Hulk are colour coded though, and I know I'd want to paint those!

I don't know about what ships they will be, but I expect wave 7 to be 3 ships, not 6. If you think about it, wave 5 was 2 ships, wave 6 was 3 ships and an 'aces' pack (and that was just to get scum up to speed)

I think the days of 2 ships per faction are over. If only because balancing new ships is getting more and more complicated
