where are the yuuzhan vong

By slaamgebel, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Hi all im looking for yuuzhan vong stats. Im planning on having the vong attack the galaxy in my cqmpaign but dont seem to find official stats is there official or fan made stats for them?

In my game, they were exterminated by the Jedi, or banished back to the anime series they belong :)

But as a non-facetious reply, they haven't been statted in the FFG games yet.

And I would be very, very surprised if FFG elected to touch that mess with a ten foot skiff barge pole.

They realized the Jedis' lightsabers weren't the silver etheral-cord cutting swords they were looking for and returned to the Astral Plane. Where they should stay. Forever. Please Disney.

The one big advantage of Disney's clean sweep! P L E A S E!

(sorry, slaamgebel)

As for official material, I doubt you'll ever see anything. The games are set after New Hope, long before the Vong appear. If you want them to show up in your game, you will probably need to stat them yourself or see if someone shares your interest and does it for you.

In the expanded universe, where they belong! :D

Nothing in the FF rpgs as of yet, but the yuuzhan vong stats can be found in the SW Saga Edition- Legacy Era campaign guide . My sugestion would be to track down a copy and maybe the core rulebook aswell and compare stats of humans and other races to see how you can convert them to FF rules systhem. I guess it's a bit of work but better than starting from scratch.

I agree. Sorry for the negativity to the OP. I have tons of SW Saga stuff, but never picked up Legacy Era. I found some home brew NPC stat blocks online for SAGA. They appeared to be taken from official sources. Below is a d20 Yuuzhan Vong low level warrior and a basic human Soldier for comparison (greatly simplified):

YUUZHAN VONG ORDER OF THE SERPENT

Scoundrel Level 1

Immune to any Force affects that target Will.

Speed: 6 squares.

HP: 18 Threshold: 11

Melee (amphistaff) Spear 1d8+8, Whip 1d4+8 (may pin/trip), Staff 1d6+9.

Ranged Venom Spit 1/24 hours, Razor Bug 1d6+8 (Point Blank range), Spear.

All attacks except Venom Spit causes Flat-Footed 1 round due to poison.

Str 19, Dex 13, Con 11, Int 8, Wis 9, Cha 9

Acrobatics +6, Initiative +6, Perception +4, Climb +4, Jump+4

Pilot +1, Ride +1, Stealth +1, Swim +4.

SOLDIER

NonHeroic level 3 (note that the "NonHeroic" class is much weaker then the Scoundrel class listed above)

HP: 10 Threshold: 13

Speed: 6 squares.

Blaster Rifle (3d8)

Str 11, Dex 14, Con 12, Int 8, Wis 10, Cha 8

Acrobatics +3, Initiative +8, Endurance +7, Perception +6, Climb +1, Jump+1

Pilot +3, Ride +3, Stealth +3, Survival +1, Swim +1, Treat Injury +1

When comparing, what jumps out at me is a racial bonus to Brawn and Athletics.

The Amphistaff would be a very unique weapon capable of morphing (using a Manuveur?) into various attack forms.

simple answer, they weren't in the original 3 movies which is the time setting for these 3 books, so FFG hasn't included them. The longer answer, with the new movies coming up the events post ROTJ have been wiped clean from the official canon and so may not be even part of the story anymore when Disney/JJ Abrams gets done with the new movies.

There are legends of such creatures... I don't think they exist. ;)

If you want any of their ships in your campaign it might be better to get the D0 New Jedi Order Sourcebook. IMO is easier to convert ships from D6 or D20 to FFG then from Saga to FFG because sometimes converting the the capital ship armaments from Saga gets weird and Saga didn't include weapon facings like both D20 and FFG do.

The Vong always prove to me how badly overpowered the Jedi had become in this era. The mystic element had gone, replaced with them being anime superhero ninjas with high fantasy magic and one-hit glowsticks. The writers had basically painted themselves into a corner, so they had to come up with 'broken' opposition for them, something that was immune to all their gimmicks. It was power escalation of the worst kind.

It felt like a bad GM who had let his player characters get so overpowered that the only thing that could challenge them was Dark Troopers riding giant rancors.

They are yuuzahn vong, not ninjas! :)

Ah, the Yuuzahn Vong or 'how to reskin your Star Trek race to the Star Wars universe'...

Throw in a bit of 40k's Tyranids...

Yep! It's like Borg tyranids!

Resistance is futile! We'll add your DNA and biomass to our own!

Thank god. I was worried I was the only one that hated the YV.

I've been hoping every day since Disney acquired the IP that they never ever touch the YV.

You aren't the only one. I seem to run into more people that dislike them than people who tolerate or like them.

No your not alone... I wont even allow the name to come up in conversation ... Yuuza wha?..."STFU!!!!"...

Maybe i'm a pessimist, but we don't know that for sure.

The posters so far, and that movie title tell us that the war is far from over between the Rebels and the Empire. Who says that in Episode 8 the VOng won't show up and wreak havoc on both sides?

Worn down by decades of war and a new common enemy both sides might need to join forces, beat them back and deal with traitors and moles in their midst that do not want that peace to happen.

At the end of Episode 9 we would then see the leaders signing the peace declaration, finishing the (Star) Wars that started so many decades ago.

If the original poster is interested in converting Saga Edition stats to something workable in FFG's Star Wars RPG system as some have suggested, there are still a few Legacy Era Campaign Guides floating around the internet for very reasonable prices .

Short of that, you could simply re-skin an adversary that's already listed, or you could create them as an NPC on the fly. Remember that villains in this game don't use the same character creation rules as player characters, so you don't necessarily have to have "species stats." Just go with what feels right. Fortunately, this system lends itself very well to that sort of NPC creation.

I don't really dislike them that much. Hell they drove my all time least favorite EU Character to suicide. I never understood why Saga edition never did a NJO Campaign guide but I seriously doubt FFG will do anything involving the Vong War.

I can't hate the YV, they helped set up the Legacy Era, which is my favorite era to play in.

Yeah the Legacy era introduced some of my favorite EU Starship classes. Unfortunately I doubt they will ever appear in anything else, though they might get close. I know a ship believed to be a ShaShore appeared on the cover of one of the Rebllion era comics and part of me wonders if maybe the Legacy ShaShores are descendents of the MC30Cs, MC30Fs or Gs or such.
