One of the players in my league suggested an idea for a tournament in which each squad has to include 1 misfit ship -- that is, a ship that's generally considered to be suboptimal and sees very little tournament play. When I say "Maarek Stele" you'll know exactly what I mean by "misfit".
What ships would you nominate to be misfits?

The generic E-Wings. HWKs without turrets. Outer Rim Smuggler is kinda weird. Winged Gundark. Most TIE Bombers without ordnance. Arguably Ten Numb. Arvel is usually weird and frustrating to fly.

I like Rebel Operative. Try one with Tactician and a turret, they rule.

Yeah I'd say those 2 plus Kir Kanos. Really any Interceptor that can't take push is a misfit.

How about 35 points on a non-unique pilot. So like Red Squad with R7-T1 + Advanced Proton Torpedoes + Shield Upgrade.
Or Shadow Squadron + Gunner + FCS + SPA.
Or Green squadron with PTL + Homming Missiles + Shield Upgrade.

I tried him once. He got focus fired down down first before he could do anything.
@DagobahDave - This would be a great idea for a holiday tournament. I'm seeing it as "The Squadron of Misfit Toys".

So far I'd have to agree with the posts on who/what's a misfit. So many cool pilot/ship ideas, and some just fall flat.
Wrath, AHHHHHvel Crynyd, Alpha + Avenger Squints, All B-wings because you know Y-wings, any Advanced besides Vader, and of course Rhymer, and all Hawks without turrets.

I don't think we're going to dictate what kinds of upgrades the ships will have, since you still want to be able to make them as competitive as possible.
