What happened to this game I love?

so should we start a thread on "Ship Genders" lol

I'm not sure what happened but it definitely has not been just in the last 40 days. You can look at other forums (more than one) and they even talk about how so many people stopped posting here because of the hostility.

I've been verbally attacked; told I didn't know how to do my job by a person that has never meet me or knows what I do for a living. I'v been told by a couple of people that they get angry when they simply see the words 'common sense'. People proudly post their custom paint jobs and some (only some) say 'meh... I've seen better'. We've seen people insult others over grammar; and I couldn't begin to count the number of posts calling other people ignorant, stupid, etc. Some try to explain their point of view to people who couldn't care less. There is a hostility between people on the methods used to interpret the rules and if you don't agree with them... watch out. I've been gaming for 30 plus years and yes, I've seen bad sportsmanship before. Maybe I have less patience or just don't care anymore but no game is worth that.

Having said that, there are some awesome people here. Many that give fantastic advice and help; help with build ideas. Many answer rules questions; honestly even the hostile/rude people are often passionate about the game and happily share their opinion. I love Mission Control. There are a lot of good people here, you just have to be careful on this forum. I like the game; I enjoy the game (though it is getting a little complex for me, too many combos). I still post but not nearly as often and I'm definitely careful what I ask. If I really want an answer to something that may be controversial I ask customer service and leave it at that.

I guess all I can say about a place like this is... (hope you don't mind the paraphrase)
don't get jittery, Keep your distance, but don't *look* like you're trying to keeping your distance. I don't know. Fly casual.

But that's my 2 cents,

I think the TIEbomber is male, it has some parts dangling beneath

tl;dr

Storm in a glass of water.

Keep calm, play more X-Wing.

The game is fine. The community is turning into crap because of a couple agitators trying to bring political correctness to the forums where it wasn't needed/wanted and a lot of people falling for it and getting whipped up.

This. SO MUCH THIS.

Also Yea I had no idea that ships had genders.

I thought ships were women? seriously of course I haven't asked any women pilots or captains if they think differently. no not trying to troll... I don't even bother reading most of those stupid inclusive this or that crap or i am leaving stupid stupid posts. to me if its NOT funny or relevant kill it...

But fighters are more like airplanes, and cruisers ships.

From what I understand, in naval terms, a ship is a boat that carries other boats (including lifeboats, or life pods, if you will) otherwise it's just a boat.
