How can we be more inclusive of those who are into games and Star Wars and just want to have fun?

By Robin Graves, in X-Wing

Hey I can make thes "let's be more inclusive" posts to! :D

It's just a game people! Lighten up!

I don't want dirty people from the liberal arts playing the same kind of games i do.

/frown

Force them to realize that the dice are a lie. The dice are a lie the dice are a lie the dice are a lie

The dice are made of CAKE?

I'm sorry these people don't matter. Check your gamer privilige.

Nothing you like matters. You are wrong and you should feel bad.

do wish some folks would lighten up this is a game and sometimes folks need to have some fun not cry and want to leave just because we do joke around from time to time here.

Especially when they are pushing a non existent issue. In my gaming community we have different races, different sexes, different orientations, and different beliefs. And no-one in our group cares because that stuff is not important. We want to play X-Wing together. That's what is important to us.

The flaw with the other threads OP is he saw issues in his community and incorrectly extrapolated that to sum up the entirety of the X-Wing community. And when everyone was telling him that was an incorrect generalization he decided incorrectly again that we were supporting some hegemony of male x wing players.

I believe if that OP had asked for tips on how to get more woman active in HIS community the response would have been very positive.

"It's really just about ethics in gaming journalism."

What this sounds uncomfortably like.

Don't misquote me, dude.

I have never come across a problem with the sexes. Woman will play want they want to play, just like men.

Ok let me clarify a few things here, I made this topic becuz i was sick of those other (the serious ones) inclusive topics.

It started of with -females (wich was fine and good, but looking for problems that weren't there IMO) and then we got the one about including - people with not enough money to buy x-wing (wich is just flat out creating drama for the sake of it) so i made this one, trying to get across that WE SHOULD JUST LET GAMES BE GAMES AND PLAY FOR FUN.

So tell me, how does that compare to ethics in game yournalism?

(wich in my opinion is that its bad for mags and sites to write positive reviews of bad games when they get paid for it/ or to **** lazy to playtest them)

Sorry completly misread your post, I am just really sick and tired of the sjw crusaders and their fight against Gamergate, so I tend to lash out sometimes wrongly. I apologise.

'S ok. No apology needed (but accepted) My fault for not being clearer.

A few people misread it. Or got "inclusive" and "exclusive" mixed up. :)

Oi this is BOARDGAME site! not a computergame site! You leave that gamergate stuff outa here!

Ooooh. GamerGate. That's a GEQ in this town. (Godwin Equivalent.) Next thing people will start bringing up Donglegate.
