worlds???

By Tuesday2, in UFS Uk Forum

So anyone from over this side of the "pond" thinking about going this year???

I would if I had any idea when and where, I kinda check this site very infrequently at the moment and arn't up to date with this sort of thing

um august 13-16th i think ish at their gen con indy

Well thanks =)

I'll look into tickets and things I guess

You pay and I'll go gran_risa.gif

I've been considering it for a while, but no-one else from Sheffield is going any more so I've almost decided not to go....

Since you've posted this I assume you're thinking of going, so do you have any idea what the total cost of the trip is likely to be?

Kyle and I have been thinking about going, but it's just a case of getting money together and everything...

I had a quick look and depending on who you go with, what times etc. you're looking at £520-£600 just for the flights. With a flight time of between 9 and 19 hours.

I'm still considering going, though admittedly not primarily for UFS.

i will be looking at making the trip (any if any other uk players do go the room sharing would be asome) just have to work out how much it would cost me

Yo! Mark me wife have been hinting that I might get the trip to GenCon as my birthday present this year... But I can't say for certain yet... but if it is to be I will happily share a room and take a place in a team. I get back to you as soon as I know more...

that would be asome bo, like i said i will have to do some checking this weekend about prices of things but if u can make it then would be amazing

llorando.gif I can't go, I can only afford one holiday this year.

**** **** ****

well looks like it would be around 500 pounds for the flight and £350-400 for a week in a hotel, still thinking about going just got to find out about time off at work :) .

If anyone wants to share a room, etc can you let me know the details for the room and flight? Another reason I haven't done anything yet is my massive inexperience in travelling outside the UK (if I were to go to Gen Con USA, it would be the second time I have left the UK....ever. And the first time was a school trip to France) : )

basically i'm wating for the stog the game today, if good then booking time off tomorrow then booking tickets for things wednesday/thursday :)

So we hold our breath for the SotG... And then we decide whats up.... Seems good to me...

Well after that long sotg, i'm now not sure if i wanna go. Mainly due to the fact that i will be walking into a room full of order lock decks fronted by different characters. Lol at ffg for trying to kill control. Now that Chun li has been neutered and destiny has been boosted up the bum i feel thats the case, please tell me i'm wrong and just overreacting to this. Tell me Something that will make me realise i was wrong.

Anyway i'm gunna sleep on it and see how i fell in a couple of days about going

......

<SLAP>

Akuma is still hideously broken, assuming your opponent even manages to get a copy of Destiny in play through your character ability and copies of Blood Runs True, you still have his monstrous enhance to hide behind. Granted, you're now worse off in the response war since you've lost Chester's Backing, but equally you still have Revenant's Calling and (The Anti-K' + Manifest Destiny), both of which are amazingly effective against order.

I don't think this has killed control, it just means it will require a little more thought to build/play since the entire control meta is no longer about who can push their copies of Olcadan's Mentoring through? I like the bannings, even if it has possibly killed my Vega deck....

So Tuesday and Speedsta what is it going to be GenCon or no GenCon? Cause the time to pre-register is coming to a end it has to be done before the 27th....

Hmm, probably not for me....

Earlier on this thread I mentioned that I had just about decided not to go since nobody else from the UK seemed to be going and I don't have much (in fact, any) experience in the best way to book cheap flights, hotels, etc. My original thoughts were that if I knew someone else was going I could book the same flights, hotel, etc since then I'm less likely to mess it up horribly :P

As things are I think I'll probably make Game 09 my main con this year and book a hotel, take various PS2/PS3 beat 'em-ups, eat lots of pizza, play lots of UFS and do everything else there instead.

baring a miricale i will not be able to make it due to me not being given time off from work due to some 'technicallitys', however if after nats this year i decide to carry on playing ufs i will be looking straight away into getting to worlds next year as i really want to go (don't worry will still make it to sweden :P )

Okay, thank you both for your answers seems that there won't be much overseas presences at UFS Worlds this year. This will be the first year since UFS entered the gaming scene that I won't be there for the championship... feels a little sad... Just have to hope Tekken gets my urge to compete back up so that I can't resist going...
