I'm confused about the difference between Cool and Discipline. Could someone clear that up for me?
Difference between Cool and Discipline
Han Solo is Cool. Obi-Wan is Disciplined.
They key off different characteristics.
They have a bit of overlap, and can be used to accomplish some of the same tasks. This is similar to Skullduggery/Deception, Vigilance/Perception, Ranged (Light)/Ranged (Heavy), Melee/Brawl/Lightsaber, Streetwise/Negotiation, Charm/Deception, really any of the social skills, and many knowledge skills.
One can be used for Initiative, the other is used when activating some Force powers.
They are very similar. I guess you could view Cool as being natural reaction to pressure and Discipline is a more trained version of it.
Read the examples in the skill section. They should help clear things up.
Basically, Cool is for keeping a level head, springing ambushes, and remaining composed. Discipline is for mental fortitude and resisting and mind controlling effects (natural and via the Force). While they are similar, their use is distinct.
Another fun use of Cool is to appear to fit in wherever you are. Make a Cool check to sit down at the bar and blend in like you belong there, or to make your way through the starport toward the computer terminals like you're an employee.

Yup. Cool can be used to "hide in plain sight" or "fly casual," whereas Discipline would not fit there at all.
