Bask In The Glow Of The Farlander's Awesome Fearitude

By Funkleton, in X-Wing

As if Farlander wasn't terrifying enough, I think I've come up with a way of making him even more underwear soilingly scary - well it is halloween after all :)

I suspect this might be even more insanely dangerous than the Navigator / Stay on Target combo.

How would you like him to be able to boost AND barrel roll AFTER everyone else has moved, regardless of Pilot Skill? Or out-dodge and hunt down even the slipperiest, highest pilot skill Phantom?

Ladies and Gentlemen I invite you to ...........

B-Wing (29), Push the Limit (3), Engine Upgrade (4)

Airen Cracken (24)
Z-95 Headhunter (19), Veteran Instincts (1), Engine Upgrade (4)

Pretty simple idea really - give Phil VI and EU to maximize his chances of gaining a firing arc and getting the first shot off.
At PS 10 It's not an absolute cert that he fires first of course, but then while it's a nice thing to do - it's not essential for this to work.

This triggers Phil's ability to give a free action to Keyan and he uses it to Boost or BR.

Because PTL is not limited to being performed during the activation phase (card text: Once per round, after performing an action......), Keyan can now PTL and Boost or BR again (obviously without performing the same action twice).

And at 60pts for the bare bones of the squad, there's plenty of room left for goodies.

I like the idea of Push the Limit, so that Farlander isn't quite as limited in getting his stress.

I almost prefer Cracken with Squad Leader. Then the action granting becomes less shot-focused and getting one off because of a shot just adds a little extra bonus.

I see where you're going, but SL is an action - while extra actions are always good - SL happens during the activation phase so doesn't help you to move Farlander during the combat phase after everyone else has already moved.

Of course. But coming from Crackens PS 8 means you get that last move a majority of the time.

Good point - stick a second B with EU and PTL in and you can kind of do it twice ....... double the nasty - double the fun

It's fantastic in theory, but having to stick withing range 1 of Cracken can be a bit of a pain since he is so immobile, add to that the chance of being blocked or any such shenanigans and I wouldn't want to count on snagging more than 1 action from him a turn.

ALL HAIL KING KEYAN. RULER OF THE UNIVERSE!

Agreed, but with 40+ pts left over, you've got plenty of room to create a Plan B

Something like this would offer a huge amount of flexibility in terms of grabbing additional actions or taking actions at different times, and throwing out ion and stress effects.

Alternatively a list like this offers a blocker and an obligate target to keep Phil in the clear and take the heat of Keyan
