sooo... how do they work with pistols, any rules? If yes, tell me where please. (dual-shot, melee combat, two weapon wielder, aiming etc)
MIU's
They don't. There are no rules either for this in the corebook.
However its not impossible to imagine some fancy or very old weapon being able to be linked to a MIU. Most normal weapons in DH however are just that, pieces of metal. I am however working on getting my PC adept a MIU shoulder-mounted bolter, so far the GM and I are working together on how it should work and how much it should cost.
At minimum? A decent MIU, best quality weapon.
does a Good Quality MIU give me +10 to WS tests my ballistic mechandrites?

I was trying to convince my GM that there should be weapons that take advantage of the MIU, however, my GM believes it would be over-powered to gain the +10 just by plugging in to a weapon and determined it was designed for vehicle weapon systems only (i.e. Titans, Guncutters, etc)....
have it work similar to a logis implant.
I don't know if I would want to have smartguns in my DH campaign, but that's just me I guess...
Besides that, the only references to MIUs I can recall right now show them being used in Titans and Spaceships, but not to control something as small and comparatively mundane as a gun.
The Ashen Tear assassin has a shoulder-mounted gun rigged up to a MIU, but of course, he's not exactly standard when it comes to Imperial Tech...

I completely agree that they should not be standard equipment offered to anyone that gets a MIU. I think it would be a nice discovery for a Tech Priest to find an archeotech(sp?) that has that function, or perhaps part of an STC that describes how to build standard weapons with that function. Or it could even be a reward from a High Magos for accomplishing a great deed. Something along those lines, but it should never be given to anyone but a member of the Machine Cult ((not saying it couldn't be found by someone else, but if they got caught with it they by the Mechanus they would become either instant enemies (hereteks) or instant friends by handing it over
While pondering the subject I remembered that Gideon Ravenor and another named Inquisitor (a signature character from the Inquisitor Wargame whose name I can't remember) were/are known to use a shoulder-mounted psycannon controlled via MIU link.
That's a thing I could go along with as a GM, cause its definitely more 40k in flair. Linking oneself to a (non implanted) gun should be a rare and invasive thing for people outside of the Mechanicum.
Speaking as a GM, I would have to say that unless your character is a tech-adept or some other member of the Mechanicus, it will be VERY difficult to even obtain an MIU. Princeps (the commanders of the god-machine titans), etc, would have them standard, but since they can't be played (yet) as PC characters I would have to say that MIUs are only limited to the Adeptus Mechanicus. Given that, linking an MIU to a weapon would be very useful. In fact, I agree with the +10 bonus for linked weapons, but would have to say there should be a limit of 1 weapon (these might be able to handle more, but the ability to do so would be lost, etc.). However, I wouldn't let them give a bonus for Ballistic Mechadendrite use. The simple matter is that I look at the MIU as helping to control the dendrites; the fact that you need a Talent to control them anyway is a great limiting factor...don't add to the complexity by stacking bonuses, etc. on top of it. Afterall, you can get a bonus by adding a red-dot laser sight and other options. But in the end, your GM gets to make the call - your choice if you are the GM.
the MIU is listed as being a RARE device and costly but NOT exclusive to the Mechanicus. the Glavians commonly use the MIU to pilot vessels. and they have been included in canon from the original Inquisitor game in an article called Hotshots and Headshots. as a matter of fact that article included stats on nanotech microfactories, Glavian bio-circuitry and explosive needle ammunition. all of which is developed and produced by a Mechanicus sect called the Cult of the MicroOmnissiah. i include this as a tantalizing bit of background for any that might be interested... if u can find the article.
MIUs while not commonplace can be had by anyone that can pay for them. the cost is well outside the range of most inhabitants of the Imperium. according to the payscale of DH it will be a lil bit before one can purchase one at any rate, what with ammo and armour and guns to buy.
the thing to remember is the weapon itself would have to be configured to even take an MIU setup...2 weapons is definetly prohibitive at a cost of 1750 Thrones per.
this is something that can be purchased by protective detail personnel, pilots, adepts using cogitators. maybe through a background a PC that served with a Noble House will have had one implanted.
