Winning with Innsmouth so far!!

By diablo666, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hello,everyone.

Our group has played about a dozen games since the Innsmouth expansion came out.

We have won twice in this time.Once by sealing six gates and the second time we won because Bokrug has a sinister plot card where he runs away and the investigators win and we drew that card. The six sealed gates victory was against Cthulu with no herald or guardian.

Our group does everything randomly and we play with all of the expansions. The game seems much harder than before. We have always played with all of the expansions, though, and it always seems this way when a new expansion comes out.I love a serious challenge and it is defenitely that.

Just curious what everyone elses winning percentage is with Innsmouth and if you play with all of the expansions.

We've played about a dozen games or so and won 3 of them. One against Chaugnar Faugn and two against Quachil Uttaus, all 6 seal victories. None of the games have had heralds. The first 7 or so games we only started with Innsmouth investigators, but switched out to a base set investigator if we were devoured. Now we're randomly picking from both during setup. We're only using the base set + innsmouth and the # of investigators has varied from 2 to 8, but most are either 4 or 6.

WON: Bokrug (sealed), Chaugnar Faugn (sealed), Ghatanothoa (sealed), Ithaqua (Deep Ones Rising/won), Shub-Niggurath (sealed)

LOST: Eihort (Doom Track filled/lost), Glaaki (Deep Ones Rising/lost), Shub-Niggurath (Deep Ones Rising/lost), Y'Golonac (Doom Track filled/lost), Zhar (too many open gates/lost)

So I guess that's 50%.

I have experienced Akachi, Finn, George, Hank, Norman, Patrice, Roland, Tommy, and Ursula.

Boards: I have only played Innsmouth and Arkham together. (Well, since purchasing Innsmouth.)

Big Cards: Only IH and AH. A couple of times, I have added the Black Goat's Strange Sightings and Gate Bursts to the Mythos Deck.

Little Cards: Every Common, Unique, Spell, Ally, and Skill I got (minus a select few I refuse to play with). Madness/Injury. Personal Stories.

We are two for two.

We won the first game in an Epic Final Battle against Ghatanothoa. We were actually doing quite well sealing gates, then bam, the Deep One Rising track fills and we're at end game with no one really prepared.

4 of the 6 investigators were devoured during the fight. We knew we could one more round and then the last two investigators would be devoured. It came down to the last roll. It was quite the nail-biter. Our most exciting win to date.

The second game was against Rhan-Tegoth. We won with seals.

In both of these games, it was personal story pass conditions that helped with the wins.

Congratulations on your hard-fought Epic Final Battle win! Narrow victories are always the most enjoyable. One question, though: You do realize that the fewer players for multiple boards rule doesn't affect the number of successes required to remove a Doom token in the final battle, right?

So tell us about your losses! Who defeated you?

So far we've had eight games with all four boards and won two, beating Yig in Epic Final Battle and Chaughar Faughn with seals. We've lost to Ghatanothoa, Cthuga, Ithaqua, Nyogtha, Glaaki, and Atlach-Nacha.
