I made some observations while playing the Digital Edition that I think are good to use in physical games...
Teleporting
EDIT: Normally teleporting doesn't have a "direction," but there are some instances when you need it... rare ones... for example, if you teleport to a space with Black Ice.
In these cases it seems the Digital Edition considers "teleporting" equivalent to moving normally via the shortest distance while ignoring obstacles (e.g. Sentinel, Barrier spell). In case of a tie for distance where the destination is in a circular ( i.e. Outer or Middle) Region, the movement is made counterclockwise. Again only needed when direction is called for and yet you are teleporting...For example, I have seen in the Digital Edition...
- Black Ice is on the Warlock's Cave. Upon completing a quest, the player moves the shortest distance to the Warlock's Cave, slipping to either the Desert or Runes according to direction. He still receives his normal reward but obviously doesn't encounter the Desert or Runes.
- Black Ice is on the Woods and you are on the Plains directly across. You teleport to the Woods but slip counterclockwise to the Graveyard, encountering the Graveyard instead.
For years I have assumed that a character who ends up on the Crown in certain objective-based endings, without fulfilling their objective (e.g. complete 4 Warlock's Quests) is stuck forever. Instead, the Digital Edition teleports them to the Plain of Peril and they continue.
So yeah...I think these are good solutions. Just thought I'd share...
