Bind duration upgrade?

By TrueMisfit, in General Discussion

I get that with the duration upgrade you commit force dice and whatever effects you have going continue, but how does that work with the damage effect from activating it?

And can you keep using the power, rolling more force dice to deal damage? (excluding the ones committed of course)

The damage effect isn't ongoing. Per the most recent Beta Update clarification, "Bind’s duration only applies to the immobilize and stagger status effects."

So it keeps the status effect on them, and I can only activate the commit part once. But I can keep rolling to keep adding damage, right?

Otherwise I don't know how you would actually choke someone to death with this quick enough.

The "choke" application of Bind would likely be that first Control Upgrade. But the duration upgrade is just to hold someone in place while you go about your other business, not the "kill" application. The best way to kill someone is to keep using dark side pips to generate Force points, or just use the Mastery upgrade.

Bind is much more than just "Force choke," so not all the upgrades have to directly make one better at telekinetically choking someone to death.

Have they mentioned anything about Sith Alchemy and especially in relation to imbuing to items that have force abilities tied to them?

I was thinking about the Star Wars Rebels episode

Rise of the Old Masters where I suspect the coffin Luminara Unduli was sealed within has Bind imbued via Sith Alchemy so her spirit was in some way imprisoned within forcing her to reinact the short period she was imprisoned before she met her end.

I don't believe that was a hologram on the grounds if it was it should have shown the coffin open and sealing after she entered not her walking through it and looking out before closing her eyes and her true state was revealed...

But we can get +1 magic weapons, right? Maybe a +1 Vibroaxe of Bind for my Wookiee? Because Sith Alchemy.
