Sorry, but with the recent string of threads about gender issues in the game, I started to actually long for the days when threads like the one described in the title here were the dominating force on the forums.

I have not as of yet run up against a Fat Han/TIE Swarm, but I've played a couple of games against Phantoms, and I won both times. Of course, one time I was flying two Phantoms, so maybe they are OP.

Thoughts?

At least no one said that a woman showed to the tournament and no one was able to beat her so "women" are OP.

Rock, Paper, Scissors is a perfectly balanced game.

However, some players would prefer it to be Rock, Paper, Scissors, Ultron... so long as they're always the ones who get to play Ultron.

I once went through a game without rolling dice to shoot and lost! Red dice are OP!

I once played a game where none of my shots landed a hit. Green dice are OP.

One time I played a game where my opponent used his ships to destroy all of my ships. Ships are OP.

Dang you all suck at this game. Can't even acknowledge/find the things that are OP.

I'm more worried that so many of the threads and posts and necroing are troll activity. Not all, not most, but there's a distinct increase from when I first logged on some months ago. But whatever rocks your boat... Or sinks it

Cargo ships are OP. They're ruining Wave 5 by holding it up at sea!

It has been a considerable amount of time since I have seen an asteroid miss. Asteroids are totally OP.

My cat chewed up two of my X-wings. Cats are OP. (pls nerf)

I spilled water on some of my focus tokens. The acrylic ones were undamaged by the same water that damaged the cardboard ones!

Water and Acrylic tokens are OP.

Social Justice stopped the Fat Han is OP threads.

So obviously Social Justice is the new meta and it should be nerfed.

People who use maths calculate you straight off the board.

Oh, i remember those days in the past, when people would call me spammer, cheeser, and WAACer because of what i played on a diminish manner when playing 40k, just to one year later apologize to me when they finally get into competitive play and start to understand the difference between thoughtful fun, and mindless fun.

Not like any of them is better than the other, it's just that they are different and trying to tell people one of them is right is beyond silly. Luckily for us, we don't have those discussions here... yet.

I liked the dudes who would show up with an intentionally bad army, with 1/5th of the playtime their opponent had under their belt, and then cry foul when their army was left looking like a dumpster fire.

"Well I took a bunch of units I know are really bad to what was advertised as a competitive tournament and lost. I will go cry about this on warseer now"

Lots of interesting points in the article. I do think it leaves some bits of information out, but overall, I agree completely. If you're playing a competitive game in a competitive environment, then the overall goal is to win. You should do everything you can to win within the framework of the rules of the game.
