Ebon Hawk

By Twilord, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hey guys,

I'm just interested, as I have looked in the book and searched a bit on the internet but I couldn't find any information on this type of ship. I have found some stuff about it from the old d6 star wars rpg but nothing for edge of empire. So, has anyone found the informations for this ship or has anyone brewed it for himself?

Thank you in advance.

I didn't find that much about it either, what I know is that it's a Dynamic Class Freighter.

And one could assume, the ebon hawk was heavily modified when it was in the exchange on Taris.

But I don't think anyone actually made a homebrew rule about it.

Edit > You could find that archive databank link to be more useful :

I'd base a stock version upon a YT-1000, YT1210 or YT-1300.

If you want to go a different and more powerful route you could look to the YT-2400 or the YV-560.

There was official stats for Saga edition I think, in the starships of the galaxy book.

I'd go for the YT-1300 myself, just for broad applicability and versatility.

Looking solely at Saga stats as my base comparison since there's no Dynamic-Class Freighter stats yet in any FFG book (that I know of), the stock DCF is closer to the YT-1300.

I just went ahead and spun this together quick. Not sue if the balance is correct or if it's what you're looking for but relative to what I had, it feels close to me:

Creator’s Note: The only one of these we get to see is the Ebon Hawk , which is a heavily modified vehicle. I tried to tone it down to a “proper” scale for being fresh off of the production floor while still giving it the Hard Points needed to match something like the Hawk (2 HP for the two other guns, and another 2-3 to cover speed, armor/shields, handling, and/or compartments).

Granted, it's not perfect, and probably isn't where FFG would stat it, but it seems to have gotten some respect and nods from people who have used it in their campaigns after I shared it.

I have a whole post discussing how I was approaching the math to most of the ships if that helps get a grasp of what I was doing.

I hope that helps with what you wanted!

Keep in mind this is a very old type of ship. Certainly no longer in production and just about every component will have been replaced thousands of times over.

Unless, of course, you are running an Old Republic campaign. It may be out of date even in that era (depending on when the campaign takes place), but it's still valid (it's like the YT-1300 in the Rebellion Era).

I also have the theory that some shipyards might be willing to reproduce these older designs for "collectors"
