I love the Y-WIng. I think this and the bomb loadout give the Y-Wing a new lease on life! Proxied up the title cards since they were spoiled and I got a couple of games in.
The A4 title lets the Y-Wing be the only ship in the game so far to consistently attack twice. I stuck Blaster turrets on mine, both with token support and without, and the impression I get is that you throw a lot of attack dice out the front arc at the problem. With this, you're praying to the dice gods that you have favorable rolls but, that's how it is anyway.
My Blaster Turret dice have actually been pretty good when I've used them and at range 2, they're actually better than the primary. It ends up being the primary strips tokens and then the secondary follows up with a better hit. Haven't tried the other turrets yet, the Blaster's been pretty good so far. With two Goldies running Blaster turrets they managed to blow up Vader across one round of shooting actually, and all it took were two focus tokens.
Bomb loadout is a nice solution to the problem of not turning. If you suspect your enemy is going to get behind you, you can dump one. Or you can save it and dump it later to dissuade pursuit, then come about. Things are a little pricey packing the A4 and bomb loadout (both goldies are around 50 points set up this way), but without a doubt, the Y-Wing has more options now to make it a fun craft to fly and give it some more utility than just an Ion cannon platform.
Not certain how competitive these will be in a tournament environment but I'm liking them so far. Anyone else give these a try with proxy cards?
