Ok, I lied. We don't NEED them. But I'd love to see them added.
I tried to pick characters who were not only cool, but also who's ship would fill a needed slot within the game, rather than give more of the same simply out of fanboism for a specific character.
5) Rebel Aces II: Any of "The Lost Girls."
So there were supposed to be three female pilots in RotJ: An elderly woman who I like to think was a veteran of the Old Republic who resigned disgusted at the "Imperialisation" the clone wars brought, and came out of retirement for the assault on the Death Star II:
Unnamed female x-wing pilot also had her flight scenes cut, but is still in Mon Mothma's briefing in her officer's uniform (She's standing behind Lando when he shows up all Generally and stuff).
Lastly we have the poor A-Wing pilot who was dubbed over by a man's voice:
Fan theory says audiences at the time would have reacted badly to seeing women die in combat. Possibly. Either way, Star Wars continues to tease me with plots that will never see the light of day: Old lady veteran takes two overlooked young Imperial Academy graduates and convinces them to join the rebellion? WOULD WATCH. Of course Lucas didn't have time to tell that story AND introduce Jar Jar to the SWU, so fair is fair.
In all honestly, this is the weakest entry gameplay-wise. It breaks my rule, as we don't need more A-wings OR more x-wings. I'll do better with the rest I promise...
4)
Mara Jade Skywalker
Mara Jade has spent time with all three factions at different times in her life. She had a storied career as a Smuggler, and even became one of the Leaders of the Smuggler's Alliance.
Jade's Fire
was the first ship she owned, and would be a great title upgrade/pilot card for a Sorosuub PLY 3000 large ship expansion for S&V:
While you're at it, why not throw in Lando's
Lady Luck
as well? And speaking of S&V Large Ships...
