No need for apologies, thereisnotry, I should have looked more closely at it, and frankly, I don't know if it would all fit with that other container. Certainly once the expansions roll in, then there's no way everything will fit in the box anyway, so it doesn't matter. My Plano box arrived in the mail yesterday actually, and it looks very sturdy, and I'm very impressed and am sure it will work very well.
Protectecting and carrying questions
thank you just ordered four of these. also the packing tape works I just use sticker sheets cant remember the brand but they work fantastic.
One storage solution a friend at my store suggested. Get some Ziploc freezer bags with label spaces, number them 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40 and place the associated tile numbers in them. It will make finding the correct tiles much easier when assembling big maps. I found that even the biggest tiles can fit (just barely) in the quart sized ziploc freezer bags. This has worked great for me anyone else have a good solution to this?
That's exactly what I was planning to do. It's been mentioned in another thread somewhere around here in this forum.

So my game arrived today (YAY!)
Sleeving, punching, cleaning (and reshaping) the minis, and organizing it all took a pretty large chunk of the day, but frankly it was fun going through all the components.
thereisnotry - I used the plano box you recommended for the cards, and it worked perfect!
For the miniatures, I found a cheap bead organizer I had in my house worked perfectly. It's pretty much identical to this one:
For the counters, I used a counter tray by GMT Games:
Again, it seemed to fit all the counters just perfectly (although damage and strain counters have to be divided into a few different "cups".
These 2 other trays fit in the box, and then I have the individual characters (hero card and class decks) each in their own baggy, and the map tiles are sorted into outdoor tiles in one bag, indoor tiles in another bag (with the smaller tiles in a separate bag inside the larger bag), and transition tiles in another bag. This all fits in the box fine with the rules and the AT-ST.
So now I'm basically already for my campaign! We start on Saturday.
I picked up one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Plano-Molding-Company-Angled-Stowaway/dp/B006UTVKWW/ref=pd_sbs_sg_6?ie=UTF8&refRID=1K94RCN49T784J4H3RN1
This had plenty of room for tiles, AT-STs (although I need to right a safe way to carry it,) cards, tokens, and models, with room for the expansions.
I got tired of using plastic storage boxes and made this fun little insert
Hold everything up to Twin Shadows, maybe even including it but I need to test that first when it's released.

I can ship to the UK. I haven't tried that yet so I would need to figure out shipping and customs forms. I've set the cost to $44 shipped within the USA. I'd need to look into shipping costs. I'd add on the difference from a USPS flat rate shipping box. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] and I can get your shipping info to get more shipping info researched. I'm currently just doing this as a side hobby so sometimes it takes a bit to get a new pattern cut or alternative shipping methods figured out.

Just so everyone knows, this person is TOP NOTCH to deal with. Just finished ordering an insert from them, and the communication and service I got was second to none. Just be careful when you go to their blog, you may be buying more than you originally set out to....
Edited by JerbiwanI've been telling everyone I can that the best way to store map tiles is a CD book:
I just sharpie the tile numbers on the clear plastic so I can easily find where they belong. Only #1, #3 and #19 won't fit in it.
It fits in the top of my Plano 732 (with those other 3 tiles and both of my AT-STs, among other things) and the lid still closes:
I'm not with it right now, so I can't take photos, but the CD book makes map setup/breakdown 20 times easier. I used to use the freezer bags, but it still took too long to find specific numbers...
Edited by macmastermindOo I like that idea, macmastermind!
Yoinkin it...

Very nice solution to hold it with the epansions. Have you had any issues with the figures coming out of their inserts and moving around during transport? How tight is the fit around them?

For standard in home use the minis stay in place pretty well, except those probe droids, those stupid things are so top heavy they want to fall over every time i bump my table, jostle the box, or stare at them too hard. The best way to make sure they are 100% staying in place is the old war gaming trick of adding a small magnet to the bases and a super thin sheet of steel or magnet sheet to the tray to keep then anchored in place.

Here are a couple of basic tips for getting the labels to work really well:
--search for "star wars imperial assault logo" on Google (in the image tab) to find the pic/label that you want
--use packing tape, rather than the 1/2-inch classroom tape that everyone has. Packing tape will require only 2 strips (and therefore look much better), and it will also protect your label from scratches and other damage
Hey,
I'm thinking of getting this box for IA but would like to know if you have a photo of all the cards inside it? (And which expansions or unit packs were included).
Thanks!

It worked great at first, but after the Return to Hoth set things started getting a bit too tight, so now I'm using UltimateGuard binders to store and organize all of my cards...it's quite a bit easier for list-building too. I still use one of these boxes to hold other cards and odds-and-ends, but I wouldn't recommend this option for card storage anymore. I'm much happier with the Ultimate Guard binders ( for regular-sized cards and for command cards ).

Great! Thanks for the tip! Ridiculously priced - I think I'll pass
Just remember, that when defeated, any carried tokens are dropped.
Just got this yesterday and it is cheap and great.

Yeah, I use something similar for my big guys.
