This is my first post to the battle reports, so I will try my best to relate it all.
A good friend and I went to the local gaming store in Kalamazoo, MI. It has the afternoon blocked off for X-Wing, according to its calendar. Only we showed up, but we took advantage of the time anyway.
"Jared" (my friend). Rebels:
Han with Chewbacca, MF and engine upgrade.
Luke S. with R2-D2, PT
Gold Squadron, Ion Turrent
Arvel Crynyd
Sorry, I don't remember many of the upgrades, he's a beginner so expect the flash pritty ones.
"Jacob" (me) Empire:
Darth Vader / squad leader
2 x Ties
Boba Fett in the Slave I
Soontir Fel / PTL
The battle was riddled with base touches and bad dice. That being said, still had a blast. The rebels took Vader and Boba out quick! Not before Boba dropped a proximity mine right in front of Luke! Though, R2 helped Luke pritty quick. What a great moment. Soontir started using PTL to its full extent at that time, bringing the falcon to 3 hull and the ties took out Arvel. The Falcon and the others burned up the remaning Imperial forces and 2 and a half hours later, rebels had won. It was a simple but it really got us into it. My friend immediatly picked up the Tantive IV from the store shelf, I told him to crawl before he started to run and pointed him to the core set. 
Anyways, I'm hooked...
