Ira has gone 6-0. I play him a lot and he is VERY good.

Also interesting that Vessery showed up twice. Very close to builds I tried, however I came to the conclusion that it was good against Falcons and not so hot against a lot of other things, including swarms, which is what Doug Kinney was playing against those lists.

I faced Vessery rounds 1,2,6.

I have always liked Vessery more than Rexler from the beginning. I am still not sold on Defenders, but Vessery can be OK if he is in the right squad. Of course being an armchair commentator is easy.

It will be fun to get all of the lists and matchups and do archetype analysis on it, eventually.

I placed 3rd after the swiss rounds today. Lost to Ira (last name?). Saw a lot of interesting squads today. Top tables had several Falcons.

I played Ronald in round 6, He was running Han + Predator + Gunner + C-3PO + MF + EU x2 Tala and a Bandit.

I flew x3 Blues + Tactician and a Gold + Ion Turret + R3-A2

Ron flew great but I managed to eek out the win.

A lot of swarms today, not as many Falcons (I only faced a Chewie in Round 6), and actually not a ton of Phantoms besides the top players. Lots of BBBZ, BBBBZ, BBBY lists, and a few 7-8 ship Z Swarms. Looks like swarms are back!

i think tie swarms have a winnable matchup versus both Falcon and Phantom lists. many other lists out there will have a much better (or worse) matchup versus phantoms/falcon.

for my money Phantom + mini swarm is perhaps the best option for versatility versus the field and may be superior to standard swarm lists as well - of course it depends a lot on the pilot.
