Jake & Bake Baby!

Jake Farrel is fun to fly, but what might make him even more fun? EVEN MORE actions!

Jake Farrel

Outmaneuver

Chaardan Refit

Lando Calrissian

Elusiveness

Kyle Katarn

Gunner

Rookie Pilot

I'm still new to the game but this was the first list I came up with, any thoughts?

If you like Jake and more actions why not put Push The Limit on him to get a Barrel Roll/Evade, Focus and Boost every turn, providing you are willing to Green Move the turn after, and considering the dial of the A-Wing that is pretty open field.

I thought about it, but decided he pretty much already gets two native actions (Focusing to Boost/Roll) and possibly a third if he is close enough to Lando CalNaughton Jr. Being able to do every action on my dial doesn't seem worth it for both extra points and a stress token. And the points I save go to the much needed Outmaneuver to help him shore up his wimpy primary attack. If I ever pick up a second A Wing I will probably fly Tycho with that and Daredevil though -- who needs K-Turns?

You might say that, but this game is all about 2 things: maneuvering and action economy. Stress tokens don't bother A-wings in the slightest for two reasons: EVERY 2 speed maneuver is green, as is every straight maneuver. A 2 turn with a barrel roll and boost can do incredible things. Give Soontir Fel a try in his interceptor if you don't believe me. Now, if we were talking about something like a Defender or a Y-wing, then I would say yes, a stress is really limiting and penalizing, even with multiple actions, because of their dials. A-wings and interceptors, not the case at all.

Having said all this, I think it's important to let Jake do his own thing. If there is one thing that will make him fold up, it is trying to keep him too close to that Falcon for your free action, particularly without Nien Nunb. Jake has the ability to be quite a bit faster than Lando if Lando has to keep doing green maneuvers. This is another reason that I think Push the Limit is a requisite here. Lando is a huge ball and the only way Jake will make up his cost is if you break the chain. It is difficult to get much out of a ship designed for Flanking like Jake when he has to stay at Range 1 of the Tank that he is flanking for.
