You know... that troll fella. Who prevents you from declaring more than 1 attacker on any troll in play during first quest of the Hobbit saga.

Because, if you're going for defeating-the-trolls-ending or are trying to gather the treasures - he's a real blocker. Have anybody used unorthodoxal means to defeat him? I usually keep a couple of sneaky Gandalfs for him, Gimli + some attack boost worked too.

Just interested what people came up with. Can't see how regular deck can defeat him in time without burning it's threat.

The Support of the Eagles attachment in the Tactics sphere is one of the simplest ways I've seen to take them out. Add another weapon or two, and you can have a hero hitting at strength 8 or 9 pretty easily.

That requires a heavy tactics dedication. Were you playing solo?

I haven´t played solo yet but in multiplayer we usually use Erebor Battle Masters to defeat the trolls while Dain is defending with Durin´s song or Ringmail. When we first time played this quest it was kind of shock when we noticed Tom´s ability, but we won because we emptied encounter deck before trolls killed us.

Are you interetested in solo? Try playing MP its not that hard.

Solo with no tactics I used Thorin with Dunedain marks (+ one instance of sneaky Gandalf). Narvi's Belt plus Khazad Khazad would also be an option.

Erebor Battle Master can 1 shot him. I only play dwarves against Hobbit quest just to be thematic.

I play the next card, it runs great and when you start in secrecy with Frodo - Glorfindel - Pippin t is for free as well....

It is pretty unorthodox, but with resourcefuls and good meals it is easy payable, also if you are not in secrecy ....

I played it solo normal and nightmare mode, and both quests turn into an easy victory.

normal score 88: 5 rounds and I raised to 38 after by my 3rd O Elbereth! Gilthonial!

nightmare score 78: 4 rounds and I raised to 38 after by my 3rd O Elbereth! Gilthonial!

Sometime I succeed to play the event 2x in Secrecy, because I could drop to Secrecy again after Bert. So I needed 2 chums, and the 3rd time I took on Frodo because I had to raise to 38 anyhow.

I do play all 3 hobbit play in 2 players game ands it was so easy to be honest. Also it was really boring. Now we start play Kd Nightmare and is really big difference. Hobbit Nightmare is really bad to be honest..... Not even bother to play it anymore.....

Well, quest by itself is pretty easy, yes. But getting the treasures... or you mean you get treasures every time no problem?

Yes to get treasures is much more difficult but… I dont care about it… with treasures easy game become even more easy….

The game is easy...but I don't try to play the harder version of victory because getting treasures is difficult? Hmmm figured you'd like the challenge.
