I having trouble understanding the force point cost. Lets say for instance you have a character of a force rating of 3 and discipline of 4 and has the move tree maxed out. How many force points would it cost to move 4 silhouette 1 beings medium range?

1 Force Point to activate the base power, one Force Point to activate the range upgrade, one Force Point to active the magnitude upgrade.

1 + 1 + 1 = 3

Remember that each upgrade says that each time you activate it, you get the benefit equal to the number of upgrades you have purchased. So with 4 magnitude upgrades, one force point allows you to affect 4 targets. Two Force Points for 8, etc. Note that not all upgrades can be activated multiple times—the strength upgrade, for example.

Your Force Rating and Discipline are irrelevant to the cost of activating a power and it's upgrades. Of course, you need at least a FR of 2 to spend 3 Force Points, so a low FR just means you can't activate as many upgrades.
