Could use some help

By Dragontalon486, in X-Wing

Hey what's up. So I've been trying to come up with an Imperial build with Kath Scarlett but I'm drawing a blank. Can anyone help with a 100 point effective squad.

My Imperial fleet consists of:

1 Firespray (of course)

1 Tie Advanced

1 Tie Bomber

1 Tie Defender

3 Tie FIghters (2 from the core and 1 expansion)

1 Imperial Aces (yes I know I don't have the standard Tie Interceptor, no need to tell me about it)

2 Phantoms

Any help will be appreciated, but only one thing; Kath is a lock, no switching her out please.

Kath (38)

Howl runner+Determination (18+1)

Backstabber or Dark Curse (16)

Night Beast (15)

Academy Pilot (12)

That's right at 100 Points.

Looks good but I only have three Tie Fighters. :( Thanks for the Input, though.

Drop Backstabber for s Scimitar Bomber (16) till you get another TIE.

Awesome. Can't wait to see how it works. Why Determination on Howl?

Kath (38)

2x Royal Guard (44)

Dark Curse + Targeting Computer (16+2)

Little trickier to run but DC + TC worries some people.

When I first started I had a similar collection of imperial ships (but without wave 4), so here's a wave 4-updated version of my first list:

Kath + predator + tactician

Carnor + PtL + shield

Academy Pilot x2

Tactician can be useful twice as often than on most ships with the Firespray's second firing arc, giving you a chance to really ruin someone's day with double stress if Kath's ability kicks in. Predator also helps you save your focus for defense. The APs block and take what shots they can while Carnor gets into the thick of things to disable your opponent's focus tokens.

First you need to tell us WHY you want to take Kath. Do you have a strategy in mind for her and just need help figuring out how to support it (and if so, what is the strategy), or have you just picked her at random and decided to make it work somehow? Without that knowledge it's going to be very hard to give you any useful advice on how to support your key ship most effectively.

To tell you the truth, I'm taking your advice from another post by copying down different squads and am going to run them to see how I do but It seems that there were hardly any involving the Firespray, a ship that I believe is cool but I've never used so I don't really know what to expect. Yes I did choose her at random but it's because she's under used and I was wondering if there was any way to maximize her ability through the other ships i have or to wait until I have more copies or the the ships I still have to get which are the Y-Wing, normal Tie Interceptor, Lambda Shuttle and the GR-75 for the upgrades I'm still missing.

For those who don't know, I have a different way of learning these kinds of things. I generally collect the fleets that people tell me and after playing a few different ones, I look for similarities between the fleets I have written do and build up from there. I try to cross-reference different themes to build up. I know this sounds very strange but that's how I learn these types of things.

Kath + V.I. + HLC + Gunner + Engine Upgrade

Whisper + V.I. + Sensor Jammer + Rebel Captive + ACD.

I don't know if you have a YT-1300 or Lambda but your can try proxying the cards and try the build. HLC will give you 4 dice up front but not work with Kath's ability unless you miss and use gunner or fire in your rear arc. Whisper will also give your opponents problems as they need to use their focus to punch through sensor jammer and they get a stress for it. With Kath and Whisper both at PS 9 you can pick who moves/shoots first each round. Sometimes a benefit.

Yes I do have the YT-1300 and no not the Shuttle but I can borrow the cards for the match, in the small town I live in if one of us doesn't have the appropriate card and someone else has extra, they'll let them use it as long as they give them back. your fleet is nice in that it has 99 points and therefore I have a high chance of getting initiative, if not getting it already.
