There's some incredible fan made SW art out there. I just came across an awesome one on deviant art and thought everybody would get a kick out of it. It's called "Here goes nothing" and by TK769 (nyuk nyuk, I see what he/she did there). I really like how he's broken the horizon to emphasize the three-dimensional reality of space. Even in RotJ the capital ships are aligned along the same plane/horizon so this is neat to see. Bravo!

Definitely interesting! The style of painting almost looks like one of the McQuarrie 'concept art' pieces - although he'd never "break the horizon", so it's definitely not, but...it captures the style of them.

Anything by wraithdt (on deviantart) (also known as Darren Tan, who did the paintings for the Rebel Transport and Corellian Corvette) is really great.
