Just got DQ and to be honest, got it as an alternative to video gaming. Can run around Skyrim, WoW and Destiny for only so long. Been looking at DQ for a long time actually and the new edition gave me to push to get it.

It says for 1-4 players but in the combat section, you seem to need a 2nd player to play the monster in encounters. How is this done in solo play?

It's in the second rulebook. You roll a die, and the higher you get, the fewer wounds you take and the more the monster takes. The combat results in solo play are 100% random.

One might say they are so in standard as well. At least that's what we did in our second game just for the fun of it....

Why roll a die and not assign random combat cards in solo play as well?

So how have you liked the game?
