Magnetic stands from Corsec Engineering - any successfull order last month?

By michigun1, in X-Wing

Hi all.

Ordered magnetic stands for my fleet a little more then week ago at http://corseceng.com/.

Money was checked out from my bank, but it is all - no order confirmation, no shipment info, no answers by email/site form/facebook.

It's look like very slow service, and this idea it is most happiest one about this situation.

Does anyone have successfull order last month?

I ordered some things from them last month and did have to send an email to get an update. Two weeks later got a reply with tracking info. Within a couple of days it turned up. Not super impressed with their communication but the products were very good.

Okay, I ordered from them ages ago and it took forever for them to arrive. On the second email they finally told me they had a bad batch and it would be soon. So there it is. But it took my nagging them until I finally got a response. I never got shipment info either. I was just told, once I finally heard from them, that they were on their way and one day it just showed up.

However, the other issue I had was that the telescoping rods did not fit snugly in the cardboard tiles. Their base is too small for the tile's center hole AND too big for the donut rings Corsec provides with their X-wing bases. I thought this was a HUGE oversight and was ticked it wasn't made clear on the website that the telescoping rods were incompatible with their X-wing bases. On top of that, their bases don't have the side rails the FFG bases do to keep the tile from moving. Normally I'd just rig up a home solution but, in a game where the tile's firing arc is key, this was a problem. I'd have to come up with something for every stand I ever used or give up the telescoping rods. Without a secure center and sides, the tile just spins around.

In the end I ended up shelving my entire order of telescoping magnetic rods and bases. I used ball bearings and washers on normal FFG stands in the end.

Corsec upon my contacting them, told me the telescoping rods were never said to work with the X-wing game stands (i.e., I wrongly assumed it worked on all their stands) which is true but incredibly lame. I think it was reasonable to assume all their stands worked with their bases.

TL;DR:

They took forever, no contact or shipping info, and I had to pester them but they did arrive eventually. It took awhile.

You should be okay if you got magnetic rods but, if you got the telescoping ones, I'd watch out. I didn't return mine because it was such an ordeal getting them I didn't want to deal with it.

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear...

That's actually good to know R22, I have been considering ordering some of those myself.

And now won't. Thanks.

and THAT ladies and gentlemen is why keeping customers happy is important.

Thanks for replyes.

Will wait my order.

Unfortunately I ordered telescope stand - bad to hear it useless for x-wing.

whoooa!

they contacted me with message " Your order is almost complete. We will try to get to it tomorrow".

look like they exists :-)

Yeah, you have to order different bases to go with the telescoping stands. It's a one man op and hes been having some health issues lately. I'll go talk to him when I go by Wednesday, he operates out of my FLGS and he's usually pretty concerned about customer service.

I have ordered from him a number of times and found the product to be very good.

I found the standing T/L's he sells are the best around.

I also have the template/damage deck holder and I love it.

He really does need to look at having some automatic order confirmation system set up though

I just used the shapeways 3d printed bases and they worked great. The rods fit better then the corsec one I ordered and it didn't take forever to get to me.

I've bought some asteroid templates from him before, I am very happy with the product and how much people like my 3d asteroids.

I've successfully ordered from CorSec without any sort of notification/confirmation thingy. I ended up posting on their facebook page, received a response, and sure enough, they had been shipped prior to me asking. I ended up receiving my purchase the next day.

Fret not. It will arrive. However, I'll probably take my business elsewhere in the future. AP has always been great for tokens and stuff; I just preferred the CorSec design.
