Who is here from the old WOTC community

By Chimaera, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Well like it says on the tin just wondering who was around. I know there are a few on here for sure but maybe it's time to requaint or not LOL.

I would imagine once the word gets around there will be a lot of old usernames popping up?

Well I was Chimaera on the old WOTC forum so no change.

Have to admit pretty happy to see a new Star Wars miniatures game since I unloaded all my old WOTC ones quite a while back. It will be interesting to see how it pans out and they look like they have made good start especially with the sculpts, bring on the Bounty Hunters.

Anyway high to everyone and let's hope the release date will "stay on target".

I'm go back even further than that.

I was a fan then a later on a contributor for the old beloved West End Games d6 and helped develop some of the adventures and The Imperial Sourcebook.

Members of the old Dragon Magazine and Dungeon Magazine as well as those who follow the Paizo board will probably know me as well.

Man, I'm old.

I was Stormtrooper on the WotC Star Wars Miniatures forums.

I was Darth Telson, but I didn't post a whole lot. I mostly lurked and used the Saga Edition forums. I do remember trading Dash Rendar for Bossk through the forums. (I'm a bit of a bounty hunter collector.)

I'm still here (never left SWM, actually).

I remember you, Chim: my first experience with vassal and any kind of semi-competitive play was your 200pt Vassal League, back in 2005. I still remember the prize support that you gave me too: Zam Wesell from Clone Strike. Wow, how the time has flown! It's good to see you back again!

By the way, I'm currently getting a head-start on building a Vassal module for the skirmish mode of this game. Ideally, I'd like to have the mod ready for public download within a week after opening my box. Maybe we can have another Vassal league, just for old-times' sake. :)

I was around in the early days of WotC game (first few waves),with the same username, but that was sooo long ago. I was also more of a lurker. I was alot more active in the DnD Minis scene.

Cheers

I still am a part of the minis community. I was jonny815 just like now.

Tint I am down for a few Vassal games when the mod is up. I bet a lot more about the game comes out in a few weeks at Worlds.

Right now I think I understand pretty well how Skirmish will work; reading the Skirmish Rulebook pdf was a huge help to getting this thing started early. Right now I'm at the point in development where I can't really do much more until I get the physical product in my hands...after that I think it'll probably be pretty quick, since I've got most things already set up.

Hi guys, good to see you on board.

Sure do remember that Vassal tournament TINT, it was epic LOL. Anyway good to see you on here. I know IJ Thompson, STSparks, Squid, Moses, IG58 and shamefully I cannot remember his old WOTC username but on here he is Dog Solitude were all around when X-Wing came out.

Got 3 boys now TINT and hoping to introduce them to this game. Will check out your Vassal module when up and running although don't seem to have so much time these days, sure I will squeeze some games in though.

Lets see who else pops up?

Hello.

I am, but im as far back as the old decipher and west end games stuff

+1

Still have a few of the decipher cards and WEG stuff. They really fleshed out the Star Wars universe for the fans.

I still have all my completed sets of the Decipher SW cards (Collection stock). Over time I have lost all my commons and uncommons (from 'play stock') but I still have a folder full of Rares. (Pretty sure I have 6+ Darth Vaders from the original limited set).

I loved that game. I still laugh that the C-3PO card states that 'he/it' is 200 years old.

Cheers

Hi Sithborg, sorry I do remember seeing you a while back also but forgot, my bad.

Wonder if the rest I mentioned still frequent these forums or word just hasn't reached them yet LOL. I am sure they will all pop up within the next month.

After looking at some of the Youtube reviews I wish this was going to be released before Christmas. It's going to be a long 4 months.

My only gripe'ish is I wish they were using a more brittle plastic to prevent warp (see the Wookiee weapon most obvious). But then again this is a boardgame so I guess I can overlook it.

Hey all--stumbled in here looking for some rules clarification and expansion info, and its nice to see some familiar names. I haven't been to Gen Con in a couple years, so it's been too long.

I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for the Vassal module.

Man, I'm old.

I bought my first WEG book in the far 1993 with the cantina minis set, I'm old too.

I'm still around. Haven't been on these boards too much. Only played a couple games so far, but liking everything. I doubt I will be doing the tourney scene as much, my gaming enjoyment has shifted more to the experience than the win. IA seems to do that well.

Never left SWM but I am here too now. Some of the rules differences are going to cause my head to ache, but I will get them down eventually.

Talisker checking in. Mostly traded over on the wotc site.

I used to play the WotC SWM game. I don't recall being very involved in the forums, but I recognize Jonny and TINT. I played with you guys on VASSAL quite a bit.

Hey! Welcome to IA! It's gonna be great.

I used to play SWM quite a lot around the time of it's release. I moved away from the game during the Universe release window, but managed to complete my sets of Rebel Storm and Clone Strike, as well as most of RotS.

I used to organise tournaments in Birmingham, UK, at Wayland's Forge, if anyone from the area remembers those.

I, too, played WotC's SWM, and posted on the forums [iD: SteveSpikes] from time to time. I still have my collection packed away neatly. I haven't played since the WotC license went "Phhhht". Right now, I don't think I could play a game to win a paper bag to play to get out of said paper bag. So, I'm most likely going to use 'em for the FFG RPG.
