If there even is going to be a June STOG...

I predict that the following will Happen:

1. We receive Tekken previews and some random updates, No bans or Errata.

2. We don't recieve Updates and no B&E (Worst possible scenario)

3. We recieve Tekken updates and they say the watch list has been extended. (BS)

4. We recieve Tekken updates and some banned cards.

My predictons on previews:

They'll show us some Ballin' attacks from the main charcters, confirm a few people here and there

Tekken will be pushed back a month, c'mon you know it's gonna happen, don't you?

My predictions on updates:

Some random promising stuff and worlds jargon.

My predictions on banhammer:

If I were Hata and I had to write a STOG it'd look like this in short.

Good day UFS community, with the success of the third anniversary event the game has pumoed some newer lifeblood and looks towards a promisng future to rebuild from a poor season last year. However there are a few hindrances to the newer players success and comfortability still present in the environment. Whilst on the other end of the spectrum some veterans and regulars alike complain about older ower cards which are now inacessable to newer players and it has been proven via several regionals reports that adapatation simple won't cut the cake.

This is not where we wnat the meta to be.

As a result the following cards are banned from sanctioned tournament play ( Effective immediatedly):

Feline spike

Bitter rivals

Olcadan's mentoring

Chester's backing

Blood runs true

Lord of the makai.

In addition the following cards have recieved errata, also effective immediatedly:

Chun-li

The R should now read R commit: After your opponent's turn begins play one Foundation, Asset or Charcter from your hand as a form.

:::Akuma:::

The R should now read R, Commit: After your opponent makes a control check that control check gets -4. Failing the check will not end your combat phase.

Jon Herr

The R should now read R, Commit: After you play a non foundation card reveal the top card of your deck. you may discard it or add it to the bottom of your deck.

Defender

Has an aditional keyword: "Seong-mina only"

Hanzo

The E should read E: if your attack deals damage add it to the bottom of your deck. You cannot add cards to your hand during this combat phase.

We Wanted to reduce costless abilities and make the environement steered towards aggression and ingenuity just like a fighting game, henceforth the cards that are now banned were needed to be made prohibited.

Although this thread may end up being more trouble than it's worth...

I predict we will get a STOG this week, but on Friday.

As much as some of those cards mentioned above are asking for the ban/errata hammer, especially one of the characters... I'm just not sure it will happen ASAP.

Of course, I do agree that a banning/errata would be nice to see, freshen up the game, and possibly add some more challenge to the upcoming events this con season. i.e. more players will be forced to think out of the box for kill conditions. And to that extent, I wouldn't have a problem if your #4 prediction came true ^^

Oddly enough, the only card I really want banned becuase it dissaudes me from building certain decks is 'The Gorgeous Team'. And if Bitter Rivals is banned then I think 'Rejection' would need to go as well.

Uh yeah, let us hope this thread is constructive and pre-empts a really useful and refreshing STOG leading up to the US Nationals and all the other great events the summer holds

personally i hope we get lots of lovly previews no bans and people get told to stop moaning about not being able to beat certain decks, every card game has formats which people don't like this maybe yours

*nods head* Previews awesome, ban callings not awesome. Sorry bloodrunstrue, but I've seen people beat decks containing all of those cards, and have no problem with any of them.

I really don't have a problem with most of the cards personally, but when there are new players being brought into the game, getting feline spiked on turn two is not the best way to get them to play.

After a while you just have to up your game or be prepared to deal with all those cards really. Most of my decks don't fear those cards at all, and are made with the assumption that those cards will be played against me.

I figure some good previews, Set 13 coming in late July, and a total lack of bans. It's going to take the upcoming 90%-control-decks disaster of a nationals to get them to realize something needs to be done, the same as last year.

I seriously doubt any of that will happen if anything spike may go but I still doubt it . I just hope Hata or Steve clarify the ruling on turnabout.

yea the last state of the game sucked and the fact that they are hush hush about the new set and are taking their sweet time on rulling and card problems is really pissin me off.The fact that we gotta guess at what the sotg is gonna say is sad too because we are all starved for info. Im sure nothing about the new set will be discussed and if so it will be a delay and this metta is what were gonna deal with at gencon.

My prediction: every card in Omar's deck is banned. Seriously it's Omar, getting cards banned is what he does.

Nope. You most likely can't. If my memory was better about established errata I wouldn't be wanting those but yeah. I remember Domination because I asked for it like 3 times before and it's finally imprinted on my mind but some of the others (Arrogance, mainly), I barely remember the exact wording because there's too much words on that card.

Which is why I tend to use it as a Powerful : 2 instead.

Also, sad to hear about the stomach flu, that is not awesome and hope you get to feel better soon.

1. Horvath already said there'll be some Tekken previews in the next SOTG, so...

2. I'd really, really like to think Hata will come to his senses after reading each and every regional report having virtually the exact same output, and realizing that Set 12 simply won't ever have the impact it SHOULD have in this current environment =/

But whatev. I'm certain I will break my cup o' joe on my computer desk in complete anger, as I've done every SOTG when I don't hear about bannings. I played Rabbit in a Winnie the Pooh play, if that's any indication.

i figure, spike ban, lotm ban, chesters, and owlfaces will probably go... they are just TOO good

BRT is GOOD, but it doesnt cause the player to end their turn they get to draw a card and process again...instead of a out right BAN, id prefer a RESTRICTION or limitation to the card in the decks that seems like it would much more well received than outright banning expensive promo cards... but in the end its not my decision, its just an outcome myself and I'm sure plenty of others would agree a restriction would be preferred over an over all across the board BAN on the card. But I don't see it happening unfortunately. I won't be as bold as to say I'd quit because I spent a lot of time, money, and trying to win tournys to get the cards I got, but if would definately put a bitter taste in my mouth that I worked hard to get what I needed to see players that did not complain how they just entered the game and should get some kind of special treatment to be on equal ground with me after all the hours I've logged and money spent, I find that insulting not only to me, but the game itself.

But again we'll see when it comes out with bans and erratas, all in all its not a big deal.. some will quit, some will stay, the world keeps going.
