Kath Scarlet list I've been playing recently

Wanted to get some practice with the Firespray so I came up with:

Kath Scarlet Firespray

-Predator

-Heavy Laser Cannon

-Engine Upgrade

-Tactician

-Slave-1 Title (hey...it's free lol)

Night Beast TIE/LN

Backstabber TIE/LN

Black Squadron Pilot TIE/LN

-Veteran Instincts

Kath's ability might seem to clash with the HLC, but the way I figured, you'd always be rolling 4 dice, with the Tactician at range 2 you're giving out stress and at range 1, if you cancel a crit, you take a stress. Generally use a focus token unless need to maneuver a shot, in which case engine upgrade is good. predator obviously for reroll. I've gotten quite adept at using the rear arc to shoot.

The fun part is, if you focus on Kath, the TIEs swoop in and eat your lunch. Individually, they might not be much, but working together they can get the job done. And if you manage to get Backstabber into an off-arc position, extra dice :) Do some green maneuvers with Nigh Beast, take an evade and get a focus free, helps his survivability.

Played three matches with this list and it only performed poorly once and that was largely due to bad dice rolls

Might not be a tournament caliber list, but pretty fun for home play

It's a pretty solid base but I think the HLC is overkill on Kath.

BS + NB is great. They get overlooked a lot or draw a lot of hate fire (stabber) or just live through more shots than they should (NB). For stress generation on Kath I prefer rebel captive and flechettes. First shots at range 3 with flechettes on Kath deny them the range bonus dice and auto stress.

In my last epic game I got 2 crits with them for double stress and Kath was the only target in arc. My opponent just shot at her anyway and took the third stress. It was epic. I had a gunner+ tactician shuttle too that loaded up that poor bwing. Think it had 5 stress on it at one point. Poor bwing.

Very true. I would take Gunner instead of HLC and Tac. Or just drop HLc. Eitherway save 4 or 7 points. VI is also wasted on Black.

As far as I know, when attacking with a HLC, If you get a crit from a reroll (predator, TL, Jonus, etc) you keep it.

And if you drop the HLC you get maximum use out of both arcs and you can swap in Flechette Torps and Seismics... :)

I would drop VI on the BSP and upgrade to Boba. His ability is superior, especially in the Phantom heavy meta. He's better anti-phantom with VI, but you can still get an advantage against Echo.

The only Firespray pilot I would run HLC on is Krassis, and even then I think its kind of a waste of points. The HLC forces you to K-turn more, which I try to avoid at all possible with the FS. Why stress myself and lose an action when I don't have to? I can shoot out the rear and be more unpredictable.

I'm so eager for Wave 5.

been building Kath with Expert Handling and Mara Jade lists. Also considering Ruthlessness and Intimidation.

How often would you say that you use HLC (it depends completely on your flying style)? If the answer is "not that often" then I would suggest trading it for some flechette torpetoes. If you consider Kath + tactician + torpedoes, you have a potential for a tripple stress in a single attack right there. It might not one hit kill a target, but it could sure take it out of the game for a while ;)

BS and DC are the combo for me. BS draws more fire than he should, and always gets some good shots in, and DC is just a pain in the rear. Cant think of a better way to spend 32pts

For sure. I think I prefer effects that arent reliant on green moves with ties as they have to be as mobile as possible. Perhaps depends on how much you fly information, I tend to let them roam. All three with Loan wolf Fetigator would be fun if it fits.

NB is still overlooked. DC is hated. I typically put him in a list where he isn't the biggest threat and people almost always shoot him first. A tie with focus and Evade takes concentrated fire to kill in a turn unless your dice hate you. I don't know how many times he's escaped multiple rounds of fire with 1 Hp. The other fun thing to do with him is break off after he's damaged not kturn and watch people chase him. A single ship chasing him needs to get a range 1 shot to get through 3 green+ focus+ evade.

I ran a Scarlet Jade Cowgirl list with NB and DC and while I love them both dearly, I think two AP for blocking might be more useful

Can't wait for deci's and crew to actually arrive.

I need to get some more fletchette torps...I've only got the one that comes with the E-Wing (don't have the shuttle yet or epic ships yet). I thought about the torps and will try them soon.

The generic TIE with the VI, I added that since I had a point left lol. It also puts him into moving and shooting at the same level as some of the Rebel ships so it helps a bit. He's kinda there to help the others shoot stuff or get in the way of enemy ships.

I consciously told myself I don't need to k-turn with the Firespray...I can just line up a rear arc shot and keep going, so I acted like that option wasn't on the dial just to get some practice in. I thought maybe the Firespray and the TIEs would be a good answer to the Falcon
