Played two matches last night with a 'finesse' list.
ORS + Gunner + EU
2 x Dagger + E2 + Tactician + Ion
I played against a conglomerate of ties
2 named
2 Obsidian
2 Bombers
It was equal parts fun and frustrating, thanks to a few contributing factors:
1) I need to fly better. I know I'm not a great pilot, but I landed my ORS on an asteroid in the first game, and it was highly detrimental, and in the second game I over shot with my ORS on the second round and took 5 attacks from his ties at R1-2. The goal had been to move in and then boost into their way and jam them up, but the 4 straight took me farther than expected and I had no room to boost.
2) Mixing agility - because I had 3 low agi targets, my opponent never had a bad shot, or a tough choice. Take the closest shot you've got, and you're likely to land a few hits or two.
3) The ORS is fun, but not very fancy - With the intro of some low cost ship options to the Rebel side, the ORS just doesn't have the same benefits. Sure you keep that 360 turret, but for 30pts I can put two A-wings in the mix.
4) PS is far more important than it once was - I need to find a better method of discerning both my choices, and my opponent's. A couple of times I put myself into good position, but often I missed the boat and ended up in bad places. Once it lead to both of my B's getting Proton Bombed.
It was a fun night, and I'm always grateful for the chance to play, but Xwing may be changing faster than I can play.
