Preparing for the Fellowship Event

By JanB, in Strategy and deck-building

Hi Folks,

after waiting for feedback our local store invites me to the Fellowship Event.

A first look at the cards of Fog on the Barrow Downs gives me the impression that every member of the group has to build a deck which should be able to handle questing and battle (defend and attack) while in your own staging area.

My cardpool is restricted to one core set, mirkwood, khazad-dum and dwarrowdelf, so i think about some hero-combinations like this:

- Elrond/Glorfindel/Legolas (without Vilya)

Questing, Battling seems fine, additional healing and opporunity of lowering thread and gaining Weapons

- Aragorn/Eleanor/Eowyn (with celebrian stone)

More Willpower, lack of Battling, no healing, no tactic-cards, cancel bad effects

- Imrahil/Legolas/Thalin (with eagles)

moderate-questing, direkt Damage, Eargle-Power, no healing, noch canceling-responses

Its not easy .. perhaps you can give me some hints for good hero combinations with this small cardpool to get a chance in this scenario.

Does anyone have to build a deck able to quest and fight alone in this scenario?

Yes, you're guaranteed at least one person will be separated from their group and moved to their own staging area, and there's a chance that every player will end up so. So you may end up questing alone for a turn or two. Willpower is very important in this quest, as there is a location that makes you defend with willpower. Elrond is a great choice with 3 willpower, as is Glorfindel. I played with Theoden in a mono-tactics deck, and it worked quite well as he ended up giving other tactics heroes a bonus to their defense and questing abilities.

Global willpower boosts such as Dain's and Aragonr's Sword that was Broken are also very powerful. Celebrian's Stone is a great card to include in your deck.

I've had really good luck with this deck against the Wights, since I originally built it to take on Stone of Erech. It can crank out huge amounts of willpower, and since each hero has consistent action advantage, holds its own in normal combat, too.
