The ghost is huge!

By superbabs84321eu, in X-Wing

I find myself completely hooked on Star Wars: Rebels and I was pondering on the Ghost in X-wing miniatures. Since Rebels is canon I think it is no longer the question if we get the Ghost in X-wing miniatures, but when do we get it.

However, I realised the ghost is enourmous. More than three times the volume of the Millenium Falcon. Here is some quick maths I did:

MF: 34 x 25 x 7 meters = 6200 m3 volume

Ghost: 43 x 34 x 14 emters = 20,500 m3 volume

I also computed the VT-49 and the outrider for comparison:

Outrider: 21 x 26 x 7(?) = 3800 m3 volume

VT-49: 38 x 20 (?) x 10 (?) = 7600 m3 volume

I guestimated some of the dimensions of the latter two ships, but it easily shows that the Ghost is really huge. Still more than two times as big as the VT-49 which is already bigger than the falcon.

So, what are the implications? Of course the ship will easily cost more than $50 if FFG sticks to the 1:270 scale. But I doubt if they do because of two reasons. Firstly, I don't think this ship will fit it's large base (it'll stick out too much). Secondly, it will look out of scale next to the rebel transport.

Thoughts?

Babs out!

There was another post about this, but yeah, it's pretty big, and doesn't fit well into the current system. I think it can be done as a large ship, lengthwise it would be a couple cm longer than the Decimator, and as wide as the flacon is long, so that might not look to bad next to the epic ships. The thing I keep thinking is how sturdy it will be on a large base, and if the pegs can handle it, especially after frequent use. Falcons tend to get a bit wobbly over time from what I've seen. I've actually switched to using the huge ship stands for my large ships, they're sturdier, and keep the model out of the way of smaller ships.

It would have been a stellar idea to just give us huge-ship pegs for wave 5, or at least something similar. I don't know how much longer my pegs can take it. I already have two pairs which were super-glued together and now they've given in again.

Can anyone snap side by side pics pls?

Pfft you terrorists obviously need to compensate for something.

Ghost isn't huge, just large ;)
