Scum Firespray

By gundamv, in X-Wing

Anyone think that FFG will release a Scum Firespray set? That is, a Firespray painted in Scum colors and that comes with the Scum Firespray cards from the Most Wanted set.

I think they will because:

* Easy for FFG to reprint the Firespray, Mold is already there.

* FFG could sell the Firespray to people who want to play Scum but who otherwise could not buy a full Most Wanted Set due to cost.

* FFG could sell multiple Scum Firesprays to people who want to buy multiples of them.

Your thoughts?

I don't think that hits the market as well as Most Wanted. Most of us have Firesprays and consider Most Wanted a great value for the cost.

Issue with Most Wanted, though, is that it only comes with enough to play one Firespray. So, if I want two Firesprays with the corresponding Scum dial and chits, then I need to buy two Most Wanted packs.

That doesn't really sound like an issue to FFG to me.

I suspect that Z-95s will pose a bigger issue than will Firesprays.

Here's my reason for asking: I usually play with my friends, sharing figures from my collection. I have 1 Firespray right now. Will need another so that we could play Scum Firespray vs. Imperial Firespray. So, wondering if I should get another Firespray now (difficult because it is out of print) or wait for a Scum Firespray to come out with cool paint scheme.

Note that FFG has done repaints of other figures - Z-95 and Y-Wings and may do the same with Firesprays.

You mean like the way we had to buy 2 Imperial Aces if we wanted to run 4 Royal Guards? Or two Rebel Aces if we wanted to run an A-wing swarm?

Sometimes you have to splash out if you want to run a certain build.

I am planning to get 2 Most Wanted anyway. Too bad there won't be a cheapo Bounty Hunter Firespray; that's my favorite ship.

If you bought a Scum version of the Firespray there isn't a way to fly it in an Imperial list so you'd be limiting your options quite a bit by buying the Scum version of the Firespray.

I imagine that the secondary market will have a lot of scum Firespray dials and pilots available as people buy enough copies of Most Wanted to be able to field Z swarms.

Not anytime soon.

Eh, just stick to the Imperials if that's the case. From what I could see the generic Firespray for Scum will be PS5 and have the Illicit upgrade, so... 35-36 points is a pretty safe bet for that.

Bu-bu-but, what about scum Krassis?!

I own 3 Firespray-31's and pre-ordered 4 Most Wanted expansions, but I would still buy at least 2 Scum Firespray-31 expansions if they produced them. Even if just for the different paint. I know there are others out there like me. Could be a market for them. But I doubt we will see it. If we do, I would bet it would be way down the road after they have produced many of the other viable options.

Just My guess guys, but If FFG were going to release a Scum version of Firespray then they would not have include the dials and plates in Most Wanted. Also I think that more people would feel slighted if you had to buy a "Scum" Firespray after buying two or three of the "imperial" Firespray. FFG has done the right here by just giving us the things we need to "recto-fit" our old ship so they can pirate up the galaxy. I haven't even got to play with my Decimator yet, and now I want two Most Wanted. Dang you FFG!! Why you take all my money??

That's just because you already have a firespray or two. For established players the most wanted pack is fairly nice and a good way for them to jump start a new faction, but for everyone who DOESN'T already own an imperial firespray, it's going to be far more upsetting to need to spend $60 to get one, especially if you don't want any more of the other ships in most wanted.

Exactly. And I don't think FFG loses anything by selling both the Scum Firespray pack and the Most Wanted pack. For those who just want a standalone Scum Firespray for a single standalone Scum build, they can buy that pack, complete with cool-painted model and Scum cards. MSRP is $30. (Yes, I know that's not the wholesale price). For those who want to collect Scum in general, they can buy the Most Wanted pack, where the Scum Firespray cards are almost like a throw-in, but you do not get a Scum Firespray model. MSRP is $40, I think.

On a side note, does anyone think that the PS5 Scum Firespray pilot is this: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Mandalorian_Protectors.

I think it is especially likely as the Scum symbol is the Mandalorian symbol.

I would expect a "scum and villainy firespray expansion pack" to come with the same pilots as the FS pilots in most wanted. It would generate a fair amount of ill will if people were forced to but a scum fire spray, an imperial firespray and a most wanted pack in order to have all the cards, minis and dials they needed.

I'll be honest though... I don't want another Firespray mini. I'm happy with the ones I have already and I'm likely to get two sets of Most Wanted. I have a feeling people are going to be selling/trading stuff out of Most Wanted like crazy when it comes out.

Yes, I think so too.

So, Scum Firespray has the Scum Firespray model + Scum Firespray cards from Most Wanted.

Most Wanted will have just the Scum Firespray cards + the other cool stuff (Z-95s, Y-Wing).

Note that the HWK is not as big of an issue as it is not likely that you would need to run more than one HWK anyways. Also, the Rebels seldom use HWKs, so I could just shift my HWK over to Scums most of the time.

Forget the Firespray-41 you can play with all the Firescum cards in a single MW pack (assuming you already have a Slave-1 pack). It is the Aggressor that really targets your wallet. In order to use the IG-2000 title you will need to get a second Aggressor pack. If you feel that you are being forced to buy 2 products with Wave 6 it is not 2 of the Most Wanted packs. It is 2 of the Aggressor packs that they really are twisting your arm with.

Don't get your hopes up

Where is my Scum YT-1300 with Scum Lando, or even better a Hans with pilot skill 13 because Hans always shoots first.

Unless you're George Lucas.

I swear there is some sort of pseudonym here with the HWK-290 pilot that we never heard of before.

Roark Garnet <_<

George Lucas -_-

Kinda like how Stan Lee appears in every Marvel movie.
