Hot Shot Blaster

It should count as a secondary weapon. Compare the writing to that of the Autoblaster: "Attack: Attack 1 ship." Therefore, you cannot attack twice (primary and secondary) from it, expose does not increase the dice count, and it is possible to lose it from the secondary weapons malfunction critical.

We believe it to be a secondary weapon. Also, Munitions Failsafe should also work with this as well, with that line of thinking.

It is a secondary weapon, no question about it.

The definition of a secondary weapon is that it has the "Attack:" header. Does hotshot blaster have the "Attack:" header? There is your answer.

Got it! So as stated above Munitions failsafe will be a good combo with this.

I was really hoping this was written/later fixed to say "shoot ANY ship in range". Thought it would be a very S+V thing to do to Hot-Shot your dead mans switch guy at the perfect moment :D

Aww, too bad you didn't blow up Jim-bob there, we set him up the bomb and all...sure would be a shame if-yeahscrewjimbob,Ididn'tlikehimanyway,whatever,WHOOPS!LASERSARECOOL! *boom*

Sadly I remember the FAQ says you may not attack your own ships. Poor scumbags. Nerfed already and they aren't even out yet. :P

It is essentially one free blaster turret shot, and by free I mean it doesn't cost a focus token to use. So it can't get blocked by an academy pilot, or Canor Jax. You can also use it if stressed.

Munitions failsafe will ensure it does at least 1 damage before discarding the weapon. Since you will likely only have 1 illicit upgrade slot the extra point spent does make up its value unless you have other modifications such as shield upgrade.

Possible builds would be scumZie-95 with assault missile (or ion missile) + hot shot blaster + munition failsafe. to give a headhunter 1 out of arc shot that will do at least 1 damage. We could also see it on scumhawks as a back up to blaster turret. scumhawk + blaster turret + recon specialist + HSB.

I seriously doubt it. That's a minimum cost of 21 points for a 4 HP ship with two one-shot weapons, more if you want better than PS 1. At that point you can (presumably) buy a scum HWK with a turret you can shoot every turn.

to give a headhunter 1 out of arc shot that will do at least 1 damage.

Correction: that will do at least 1 damage as long as the ship isn't destroyed first. And at a non-trivial cost added to a ship whose sole purpose for existing is to be cheap.

Why would you want to spend another 3 points to get a weapon that does the same thing your main turret does and can't be fired at the same time? For the rare time when you get blocked but don't care enough about getting blocked to take an ion turret? That's just throwing away points.

I dunno, is it worth the points? I only really think about taking MF if I have multiple ordnance.

Hard to say without testing it. For Four points, you could have a Blaster Turret on a Y-wing, but that has it's own weaknesses. So then, for six points, you could have that Blaster Turret with a way to modify it, IE the new R4 Agromech. Twice the cost of just the one-off Hot Shot without MF. But, I can definitely see that single turret shot being a nice insurance policy of you Z95 Ace gets in a jam. Likely won't see much use on a Firespray or HWK, though. The HWK would rather take an Ion Turret, and the Firespray has the back arc.

So the real answer is, I don't know, but I'll test it both ways. :)
