So i am trying to build a solid list with lando, but struggling!

its got to be able to take on phantoms etc

is the best list so far, any better ideas, no expanded universe ships, i do have all upgrades and pilots etc tho

Because I'd love to use Lando but his pilot ability should definitely be range 1-2.

Trying to stay within range 1 of the falcon while being in a good position is so annoying.

Unless you are another turret ship or ships. Ywings and HWKs are good as is a second Falcon or outrider.

Actually, with that in mind, a Lando + Y w/ Blaster might not be a bad idea. It leaves you 34 points to play with upgrades (and a 3rd ship), but it would make it such that his R1 restriction isn't a problem since you're flying with another turret, and the focus token requirement would mitigate the blaster turret issue. Heh, for SnG - if you wanted you could put PTL or something on Lando, coupled with Kyle crew, to make sure that you always have at least a focus on both ships, regardless of action denial. And then you could put a strong 33 point stand alone ship as your third and run it as a flanker.

Lando's problem is that he offers a support ship ability for a feature ship price. His ability is very nice, but given that he will almost certainly be the most expensive/best ship in his squad, he is essentially handcuffing himself (green maneuvers and trying to stay in semi-formation) to give what is almost always a lesser ship a bonus. His ability would be OUTSTANDING on an A-Wing, HWK, etc., but on the Falcon, not so much.

As much as it pains me, as I like Lando as a character quite a bit, he is not that useful as a pilot. As crew, though, he may offer more opportunity.

You fly Rookie next to Lando, Roark gives Lando a PS boost which Lando passes to the Rookie Pilot along with a free action. You've got two points to play around with, and you could do someone other than a Rookie, I'm just using that as an example.
