Additional Pilot Cards and Dials

By Guinivere17, in X-Wing

Hello everyone!

So with the imminent arrival of the scum and villainy wave, it has brought up a couple questions for me. I am normally a Rebellion player and I am looking at this new wave of ships, specifically the most wanted pack, as a possibility to bolster my fleet. I'm not worried about the different paint schemes on these ships, the problem that I am running into is getting enough pilot cards and dials to support this.

I have read that I can contact FFG customer support and get replacement cards and stuff, but this wouldn't be a replacement. A quick search on eBay turned up next to nothing in the way of cards and dials.

Is there a way to get these cards, or is it a case that I can't make these new ships work in a different fleet?

I think you'd have to proxy make them for home games.

For official stuff its harsh but business.. we have to buy that ship.

I'm missing one xwing dial at the mo and as FFG have been so good to me recently i dont want to mess them about anymore by asking for any more parts and i hardly ever fly 4 x wings

if i do i'll just get the move sheet you get with the expansion and under the table or whatever put a marker on his move til its time to reveal it in casual games.

its not ideal but works the same as a dial, its just not as convenient.

its it became something i needed to do regualrly i'd get a dial, break it open, make some photocopies and glue them to card discs and put a split pin in the middle or a bolt.

There are 3rd party dial available -- some are custom made-to-order, some would likely only take a bit of modification on the buyer's part.

And I believe I've seen more. I've not tried any of these, but I probably would if I were missing any official dials.

Hope that helps!

The movement options on the scum dials have been confirmed as identical. The pilot cards will be an issue and cardboard inserts but only if you wanted to run all bandits or something. As long as your opponent does not mind the dials being a different color, I think you can make it all work pretty easily without forking over extra $$$. I have heard that your dials must match your faction at tourneys but for local games you should be fine.

That makes sense. It is a business after all and they need to make money. Thanks everyone for answering my question!

For casual play the dials don't matter. So if you bring 3 Headhunters and 2 of them are S&V dials as long as the pilot cards and tiles are matching and people you are playing with don't have a problem then it should be okay*

The asterix is for official and tournament play such as league. For FFG you have to have matching tiles pilot cards and models. I can understand not mixing say Binayre Pirates with Bandit Squadron pilots as that is a difference on stats. However I also understand FFG reasoning for this. It would be very unfair to Imperial players if they made a pack that gives 3 more ships to rebel players and forces the Imperials to bring their own Firespray-41 to play S&V.

Note that custom paint jobs and such are OK. So.....if you custom paint job your dial to be faction neutral, you are OK! Same with the ship.

Not for tourney play. Dials can be marked to declare ownership, but you cannot modify the dial in such a way as to make it neutral. They say this in the rules. You can paint ships, but not dials.
