X-Wing with Class-A Container

By Garnazul, in X-Wing

Last weekend we had a game with the Class-A Container paper model that I had finished.

We placed it in the middle to look how the game would turn out.

And...it turned out being very difficult!

The container has a width of about range 3 so anything closer would make the starfighter collide with the container.

The next game we placed it on the side of the battlefield and this made it easier.

I have not been able to make a base for it yet.

Nice job. Looks great on the table

Looks good

Looks great, i use the rebel transport as a 'broken down one under guard' in much the same way as asteroids get very boring after a while

Has anyone used the free cargo pod from Dave Graffam yet?

Hey, that's me. The free cargo pod kit doesn't have a lot of texture options that are great for Star Wars, but I could probably knock together another version with some very Star Warsy textures. I'll try to remember to do that.

Sizing could also be done easily by just printing it at different scale.

I also saw you have a "for pay" cargo container. Those might work, too.

I'd also like to suggest some sort of generic space station that can be printed out and fit X-wing scale. :)

That would be great!!!

I think this fall I'm going to have to get back to making my own. I had planed on making some small ones out of wood, and use plastic to give it some texture.

Dagobah Dave .. you're awesome! You contribute so much.

I used the same paper craft model of the container as the OP, but scaled down to much bigger than an X-wing.We used them in place of asteroids just to get a different feel.

I believe that this shows there is a market for scenario kits. A small set with some new scenarios and a piece/pieces of terrain appropriate to the scenarios.

A Yavin pack maybe with turrets, another with a shield generator that can only be destroyed with missiles/bombs, freighters with capture the flag/cargo style missions, etc. You get the point.

And after turn 2 roll an attack dice. On a hit a Space Rancor jumps out at attacks the nearest ship with a range of 1. As soon as it touches the base of a small ship it is destroyed. Large ships get 2 face up damage cards. It always moves range 1 in the direction of the nearest ship. :P

Hmm this got me thinking.. I could print this on decal paper, then slide that onto some thin sheet styrene and then build it normally.. hmmmmm

Edited by oneway

I really have to add to my initial post:

Many thanks to Millenium Falsehood for sharing the Class-A container model on the internet.

And for helping me a lot with building this paper model.

I a still trying to build the BFF-1 bulk freighter.

Can you link to where he shared that, I would love to try to build that one .
