The main kill card is obviously Twilight Embrace (which is also useful for getting rid of those pesky grey card people like to play). They're easy enough to pull back with all of chaos's recursion (LotM/Body of Souls, Kabuki Artist, Billiard Cheater etc). Tsuji and sazan are there so I can pull off the combo enhance. I chose Tsuji as my mid attack mainly to get rid of Destiny (which to my knowledge only one or two people were running and I didn't get paired against either of them), but there are tons of foundations and assets out there with responses that I'm sure you wouldn't mind destroying. Sazan filled the low attack requirement and did so very well. Getting +3 to your next check means you only need a 5 to pass that Twilight Embrace and you can always take 2 of them and go for the old defender loop (I've yet to pull that off, but a nice alternate way to win). Increasing your opponent's next check doesn't really matter when you have Bitter Rivals in play. The other nice thing about Sazan is that when you pull off the Twilight combo, you can use defender/LotM to pull back sazan, play it for 5 difficulty, give your next check +3, defender to pull back Embrace, play Embrace for essentialy 5 difficulty, combo enhance, pull back sazan etc.

The rest of the deck is pretty basic chaos/evil stuff. Some haxx, some control you know the deal. If I could go back and change anything though I'd probably drop the 2 Lesser of Many Evils. I threw them in at the last minute to fill 60 cards, but they didn't really do anything for me. Revenant's Calling probably would have been a better choice, there were plenty of situations where that card would've came in handy. Also I don't think I used Tenacious once througout the entire event. LotM/Body of Souls/Kabuki was all the recursion I needed.

So there you have it. Feel free to comment, ask questions or whatever.

When I was reading the list, I passed over Defender and nearly fainted right after when I realized you could D-loop Twilights, and not even at a particularly high difficulty. That's just gross man... gross..

You probably could've gotten more mileage out of Tenacious if you had more than 1x in the deck lols, although Body of Souls is still probably better. +1M is always nioce too.

Grats on getting so far, how did the match with Zangief go? It seems like a decent matchup for you, what with Twilight being able to really beat up his staging area...

Well, this deck just goes to show you how good Zhao Daiyu can actually be.

I'm honestly surprised you aren't running The Bigger They Are...

I know you say you have a lot of recursion, but direct draw is nice too.

Yeah, I only ran run copy since you don't really benefit at all for having more than 1 in play and I could always just use Billiard Player to bring it in. But I just never drew it which is strange because usually when I run 1 copy of a card I always seem draw it serio.gif .

Omar's deck, ugh. I tried to Embrace him every chance I got, but unless you meet the combo requirements you need to deal damage to remove stuff. Zangief's enhance doesn't have a minimum of 1 so late game it gets really hard to deal any damage, which he just heals back anyway with Chester's/Abelia's. I did manage to combo enhance to remove his Wonderworld Comics but all that did in the end was drag out the game even longer.

I did consider running Bigger They Are, but Zhao Daiyu being 5'6" is no guarantee that I'd be drawing 2 cards. That and I wanted to limit the amount of 4 checks in the deck since I'll be chucking 6+ difficulty Twilight Embraces. Card draw is nice but Zhao can play at a slower pace since her ability essentialy takes 2 cards from your opponent, chances are they'll fail the check plus they're losing 1 card from their hand.

wow! this deck is inspiration for my own zhao deck plz go look at mine and comment it and let me know how i can make it better i tried to make some changes today but the resources didnt really match to well im more about running the new pack one and dropping the other one later

I notice that you had 7 cards with evil only and 14 cards that had evil and chaos while the rest is mono chaos in your 39 total possible foundations (I am counting The Anti K' as a foundation too).

Did you ever have any problem with dual symbols?

Actually there are 10 mono-evil cards (4 Chester's, 3 Bitter, and 3 Rejection) and there are 7 infintiy cards, but I didn't run into any problems dual-symboling. Sure there are going to be turns where you have to choose one or the other, but whatever you don't play on your turn simply becomes a block or Anti-K fuel for your opponent's turn. Billiard Player helps alot too.

this deck is insane. i would say that now zhou dayu, astrid, and zi mei, it is posible that someone will get the awesome prize for winning worlds with a shadowwar char.

Dude, if Hata used it as his challenge deck, that says something...
