Is there any type of limit on upgrades? Just bought a Y-Wing and I see it has twin Proton Torpedo launchers. Do I pay squad points for both launchers? +8? or +4?

The Y-Wing has 2 torpedo slots.

Meaning you can equip up to 2 torpedo upgrades.

For each upgrade you equip, you will pay it's cost out of your squad points.

If you take no torpedoes, the Y-Wing will cost no extra. If you choose to upgrade it with 1 set of proton torps, it will cost +4 points. If you choose 1 proton, 1 advanced proton, it will cost +10 points

The capacity to be upgraded us included in the point cost for the ship/pilot, each actual upgrade costs the points listed on its card. Each icon on the ships upgrade bar allows the ship to equip a single upgrade card of the matching type. So, if you have a y-wing, it has 2 torpedo icons in its bar. That means it can equip a max of 2 torpedoes, but if you only equip one torp upgrade card (proton torps, fir example) it costs 4 points. If you equip 2 proton torp upgrade cards it costs 8 points. If you equip 3 proton torp upgrade cards, you are breaking the rules because y-wings only have 2 torpedo icons.

Also, note that there are 2 types of upgrades that ships have access to, despite not having their symbol on its upgrade bar, which are titles and modifications.

All ships can equip 1 modification, and many others can equip 1 title. Titles are only available to especific ship types, as indicated on their respective cards. Modifications are available to all ships. Provided you meet their prerequisites, you can equip one of each on each ship, even if their symbol does not appear on the corresponding upgrade bar.

Also, note that there are 2 types of upgrades that ships have access to, despite not having their symbol on its upgrade bar, which are titles and modifications.

Titles and modifications are newer upgradres and don't appear on the upgrade bar as every ship may have 1 of each.

eg: Millenium Falcon is a title that has the additional limitation of only being able to be used on a YT-1300.

eg. Stealth Device, Hull Upgrade, Shield Upgrade are examples of upgrades.

Also if you get say the following packs "Imperial Aces, Millennium Falcon, Slave 1, HWK-290, Lambda Class Shuttle, Rebel Aces or any of the epic packs you will see a card the same size as a pilot card that has a rules addition much like the Ion Token rules card you should have received with your Y-wing pack.

However the FAQ is a great go-to for all new rule additions.
