Damage to own ship from Vader... checked FAQ already..

By Gadge, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I had vader in a shuttle.

Fired at Luke, didnt hit but i'd 'made an attack' so used his force ability.

So far so good yeah.

It says 'take two damage'

Can this be from the ships shields or is it from the hull. While the hull makes more narrative sense i suppose we tossed a coin (the FAQ didnt help) and went with it was 'shields OR hull' and shields first as per normal hits.

Is this right...

an undmaged shuttle using vader after an attack loses two shield?

Unless a card specifically says otherwise you suffer damage per the normal rules, meaning shields first.

Proton Bomb is the current exception, dealing a faceup damage card directly to the ship.

So you played it right

Cheers

Also you can use Vader even if you only have 1 hull 0 shields left. Hence the title DOOM SHUTTLE

Yep i was clear about the fact you could use it to self distruct and not need the full two hits.

It was just whether the 'damage' was damage to the physical ship or the shields or a mix of both if you say had one shield left.
