The maps were nice. The one of the town/resort is okay, but the prison complex is better. The pregen characters were nothing too special.
Rescue at Glare Peak... will it be made available?
I'm just posting now in response to my first reply in the thread and the convo at large (and will try to bring it back on topic afterwards):
So I originally got on and said I had been told about this because I was surprised that a pdf version existed, and included the 'how' to clarify because I haven't seen the real Rescue at Glare Peak or know of it being around for real. Also he said it was a scan and not a download like on the Support page. This being the topic thread for Rescue at Glare Peak, that's why I put it up. The first reply pretty much explained it to me immediately... and I feel silly for a couple of reasons: the first of which admittedly being not remembering an 'everything is available online' view, because I read it as calling out my naivety and surprise. I can understand TV shows being online but not a rare book that hasn't been sold to people? I do understand now too that it was bought by shops for an event (but tbh don't know what that means exactly, beyond that it's not meant for the shops to sell so the pdf is piracy against the shop and FFG? It's okay if I'm wrong again because I don't know the exact laws, and I don't plan to break them). I didn't miss the point about piracy and liked the replies I saw that came out afterwards because I understand that's what it is, and am not about to excuse him (my friend) having a copy that didn't come from FFG or a seller they allow. So I did reply yup, because I don't want to call it otherwise or say it's okay for my friend to do it. Agree clearly, rather than agree and deflect by saying 'yup but'.
I haven't been in this thread over the weekend, but should have posted more than one line in my message at the start- or added more soon after- that what my friend has done isn't right to do. Doing that along with what I said might have made a better post.
I don't know how or where he found it (or whether he paid for it) other than the web, like he told me, and I'm not really interested in engaging with him about it further... because that would basically be a fight. My friend likes that he's a 'better' Star Wars fan than me (he hasn't said he's better but does like to show me things or tell me things in this way to demonstrate it). Having done that I think he's pretty happy and would imagine any kind of follow up discussion as sour grapes or trying to deny him his 'win'. Mostly I just do the 'oh, okay' or 'that's nice' thing and we move on. We have a like of Edge of the Empire in common, and he is nice though- so it's not to say my friend is a demon. But just that we have this dynamic sometimes. He has the Core Rulebook for Edge of the Empire, I have Age of Rebellion which he has too, and he has gotten the supplements that have been released in Australia (not the most recent ones like Stay on Target or Fly Casual or Lords of Nal Hutta) but I do follow the forums here to find out about them. I would prefer to buy from a store rather than online because between the dollar and shipping it seems to be easier/cheaper I think to wait until a couple of places here get it. He (my friend) lets me look at the books he has but I don't play the games yet. I bought my copy for the art and in universe information. I have read how to play though. When I find a group, and start playing (which is soon because I have met some people and they've been talking characters) I will look to buy the supplements. Because I like pilot stuff I'm probably going to go with the Explorer, Ace, and Smuggler books. Only the Explorer one I've seen in shops atm.
I did want to bring up the pdf still... because of my surprise at it, and this being a discussion about Rescue at Glare Peak not being released.
Since 'crime' and 'encouraging others' have been read into my post, I want to say that's not what it was. I'm a bit uncomfortable reading Sturn's comments about me, so have only kind of glanced over the later ones. I'm late to this, so it already feels to me like my reasons for talking in the thread have been explained and accepted by everyone (based on that reading in by other members) without me being present. That's why I've had trouble following the thread now and have gone on this long post. I think somewhere that it was said I was being proud about it too. And while risking being ranted at again, I do want a chance to post, now that I'm not on my mobile. I know it's not like I did a good job posting in here originally... and do get that's why others then talked for me as a result. I gave licence to be interpreted any which way. I've written this as open kind of thing, to agree with what has been said so far about online piracy, and also to say what was behind me posting originally. I wasn't trying to encourage or be proud about something that's wrong to do and I understand as against the law too. I am unsure, irrationally, think now that basically Sturn you will follow me into other threads I post in and continue pressing me. I am likely reading more aggression into your tone and replies than intended so am consciously trying to drop that. Again I do not like piracy or want others to try it and will say it again. I have ended up writing a lot and been honest without I hope being troublesome, but I feel a bit better for typing it out, and would like it to be read with what was written about me too.
I don't think editing would be the right thing to do if people will think I was encouraging getting a pdf (which I will say I wasn't and I don't)... since my original post has already been quoted and discussed. I hope it can be read again, with this post in mind as a now late context for it. I don't know where to look for online FFG stuff except from their page and the community content thread, and assume a virus and letter from my Internet provider about improper use of my internet would be the outcome if I tried to copy my friend and be a pirate. I think the replies have been really good though because the norm of the conversation is that piracy is wrong. Only a byproduct for me is that what I meant by posting (that I know wasn't communicated at all so you are free to say 'that's all very well') was substituted for something else and then ran with... and because I'm only on now and talking about it- rather than being talked about it feels like already that's the way it is, and this post then becomes the 'yeah, whatever' afterwards. That I've already been talked about and I can't have a say now.
I'll stop because I'm getting a bit much now. I'm writing this to be honest and do more than a one liner; to explain what I'm thinking coming back into this thread and trying to read what has been posted since.
For something a little different, but probably a better reason for why I was uncomfortable when skim reading people talk about me is that apart from the tone I read in: I prefer she to he when being referred to. ![]()
On topic:
The thing that excites me the most is the art, and I hope there is new pictures with it. I try to follow some of the artists online and what they release. For me any Age of Rebellion or Edge of the Empire (basically FFG) product is a promise for new pictures and awesome art being introduced.
EDITED: to put in spoiler tags, so that the off topic part of my post doesn't mess with the on topic part

You did nothing wrong. No need to apologize to anyone and you didn't deserve getting falsely accused of something and publicly berated about it. However, I'd argue that apologies are most definitely owed to you.
I agree that the art is one of the most fun things about FFG Star Wars products. It always looks great and FFG do an awesome job of bringing it all together.
I love how they make the effort to throw in unique stuff even for smaller releases so I'd imagine Glare Peak has unique art in it?

Unfortunately, not really. The pregenerated characters use art from the Career section of the Age of Rebellion Core Rulebook, and most of the art is recycled. That said, there is new art in the form of maps. I believe the art on the front and rear covers is new as well.
Lets not kill each other over this topic. We all love the game and would clearly buy it if FFG published this adventure.
I would buy it even if a copy was possible to download online from the internet.
FFG makes great products and i hope they will publish this one also.
I would love to add this one also to my collection :-)
Hope you hear me FFG......money to be made her :-)
Hell, it still sticks in my craw that I dont have a hard copy of that free RPG Day module - and I have it in PDF!
One thing Ive been curious about is if theres anything in the adventure that hasnt appeared in any other book? Im talking stats-wise here, enemies, vehicles, droids, ships and such. From what Ive understood from reading about it online it has some pregenerated characters that could be useful for some people and it has been mentioned that there are no stats for Vader. I wouldnt have minded having stats for Vader, mostly because in previous editions of Star Wars games Ive used stats for known characters to gauge the powerlevels of my own NPC´s and just enjoyed reading them to see someones take on them. Also Ive read that there are maps in the package but not sure how big they are or if they could be used for other places and situations.

Maps are kind of small, they've got them all crammed together onto a single page, I think it's about 8.5"x11". Maps are of Glare Peak itself, a detention center, and a crash site.
I don't think it's going to be released to the general public.
I signed up for the Force and Destiny game for GenCon and got this message:
Players who participate will receive a free copy of the Rebellion Day adventure Escape from Glare Peak while supplies last. Pre-generated characters and all materials needed to play are provided.
Dude! Cool info, but once again I see this thread bumped only to be shot through the heart like a love sick Ziro the Hutt.
Meesa sad.
Hate to bring up dead threads, but here we go.
I really want this adventure, for the purpose it was made for: Getting people into the game. And what better way to do that then to introduce one of the greatest characters of all time, Darth Vader?!
I bet if you dug deep enough, you could find some pdfs of it on some..... untrustworthy..... sources, like Scribd or Docslide or something.
Still nothing yet from FFG though.
Edited by DragonDust101At this point, if they've not released it for free on their website by now, they're probably not going to.
So your best bets legally at this stage are either eBay or finding an online retailer that may still have a copy in stock.
