I see your point trying to learn a particular ship's weaknesses. I've been trying to do the same with the Decimator, which has been decimating me. I'm also working on ways to land more crits, but the Decimator doesn't have the ability to avoid crits they way Chewie does.

The Imps will have another way to crit Chewie (or anyone of course)

I've been thinking along similar lines regarding the Decimator. Tons of hull = hard to kill but lots of opportunity to cripple ship with crits, which I think could make a big difference.

I haven't tried it out yet, but I think Mangler Cannon could be a solid choice. You don't sacrifice red dice for a "crit gimmick" but you still increase the crits significantly. I have a strong list with Brobots armed with Mangler cannons, but haven't tried it out on the Decimator yet (or Chewie).

decis HATE manglers. but they fear a hlc.. ;-)

"critted" ships are nice and fun, but "dead" is better. of course there are other factors involved (mangler for 4, hlc for 7, no range1 etc) but just as a rule of thumb, you should prefer more damage to "less damage, but crit".

that being said, I fly my brobots with manglers, too. saves tons of points I use elsewhere and it is just so much more flexible (no range1-reroll-hole).. and, while "more damage" is more effective, crits are still a ton of fun.. if the other guy gets them :-D

Give him 4 damage, turn the crit to two hits. C3P0, evade still only will negate 2 of 5. The trandoshan knows how to hunt wookie.
